So, had follow up bloodwork drawn today and just heard back - it was down to 4500 from 5200 on Tuesday. I had been lightly bleeding yesterday and this morning, around lunchtime today I started having worse cramps and laid down to take a nap. When I got up I had much heavier, darker bleeding and passed some clots (sorry if tmi). The nurse I talked to said since the blighted ovum sac was only 5 weeks I may have an easier time miscarrying, and I am going to see if it happens naturally so I can avoid taking the meds to speed it up. I will talk to my doc again on Monday (she is out of the office until then) and see how things are going at that point and when to have me come back in for more hcg bloodwork and an appointment. This sucks so bad, I hate hate hate it, but at least I know for sure now and can hopefully get on with miscarrying and getting back to normal. Any advice about this terrible process would be appreciated!

yes the bleeding made it more real but also I feel like its the first step to getting back to normal. Like I said its been much easier mentally for me knowing that nothing was in there, I am grieving the loss of the pregnancy but since there was no chromosomal information present I am not even sure it what was in my uterus could be considered a baby...
And thanks so much to everyone for your kind words. I so much appreciate this board.

I'm glad he is there to help you. My poor DH is sometimes so clueless about how to help me when I'm going through MC; I actually think it makes him feel better when I break down and finally ask for help. It gives him something to do, and he feels a little less powerless! I'm not good at asking for help, but I think it's better for both of us when I do.
