Noises While Sleeping

Hi All --

I have a beautiful 10 day old baby boy that was born via c-section last week. We've been home for about 6 days and I've noticed that he makes lots of noises while he sleeps. Sometimes they're squeaky noises/sounds, sometimes grunts, sometimes little snorts. Do any of your newborns do this? I was just curious...This is my first baby and I hadn't spent much time around newborns/infants before having my own.

My lo is a very loud sleeper. She gurgles, snores, and sighs just like how older people make noises when they sleep

Totally normal. Mine is almost 6 weeks and makes all kinds of noises in her sleep.  She has since she was born. I'm so glad she sleeps in her crib because I would not be able to get any sleep if she was in our room!

Totally normal. I had read before LO was born that they are noisy sleepers, but was still surprised at just how noisy they actually are! Just let them be unless they are actually crying so you don't disrupt their sleep.

Mine is 6 weeks old and does this too.  I just asked on my birth month board when they outgrow this.  DH and I need some sleep!

Yep, DD makes all kinds of noises when sleeping. She mostly squeaks, but sometimes snores and grunts too.

I got into the habit of sleeping with a pillow over my head 2 years ago when we brought DD home from the hospital.  Newborns are the noisiest sleepers!  Totally normal and after awhile it became comforting, at least I know they're breathing

Very normal...in fact, I was delighted when DS was born because I had forgotten about all those wonderful baby noises DD made and my heart melted to hear them again.

My daughter is going to be 10 wks this coming Tuesday and she does this grunting noise at night too ,but she just started doing it the past 3 wks.
