3rd Trimester

Highchairs

Kind of caught between a few different ones (rather get your input here on 3rd Tri, more than in the Gear forum).

Assuming price is not that important:  Peg Perego Siesta (easy to fold, easy to clean, stylish), Boon Flair (easy to clean, stylish, does not fold), and the Graco 4-in-1s (versatility)...

If you have one/more of these can you give your input please?  I have been leaning towards the Siesta all along but having last minute uncertainty.

Thanks!

Re: Highchairs

  • We have a Graco 4 in 1. I love it. It folds, the seat comes off and can be put on a regular chair. Easy to clean. We've had no issues with ours.

  • We have the Peg Perego high chair (I think it was a discontinued style when we bought it a couple years ago for DD).  It has a vinyl cover, which I highly recommend.  It also folds, but we have never folded it since we started using it.  It's held up very well and will be great for baby #2.  We also have a Fisher Price space saver at MIL's.  It has a cloth cover, which is a PITA.  DD is a messy eater and we have to wash the cover very frequently.  Go with a vinyl cover seat because it's so easy to wipe off.

  • I have a Fisher Price one that's just okay but I just wanted to add that think about if you want wheels on yours or not.  We have wheels and thank goodness because we move it all over the place.  I think we'll go with a Graco for this next baby when we need it.

  • o with whichever one has the least number of nooks and crannies you have to dig food out of. And trust me when I tell you it goes everywhere! Including under the pad of the seat.

  • We recently got the Graco 4 in 1 for DS.  We previously had a Chicco.  One thing I didn't think about prior to buying our first high chair was that in most high chairs, there are so many places that food can hide and get stuck (where you can get to the spot to clean it unless you take the high chair outside and hose it down).  DS is a messy eater and our Chicco was just disgusting.  The Graco 4 in 1 is better for keeping clean.  Would have liked to get a wood one but DH didn't like those.  So that's my advice - get one that can be cleaned up easily!!!

  • We have the Fisher Price Space Saver. I know that's not on the list, but I have used it for DS and saved it for the baby. We have really loved it over the full sized high chairs that our family has had for DS.

  • Sorry for throwing a wrench in your plans, but I recommend checking out the Chicco 360. Easy to clean, can be tossed in the washer, takes up little space and stores easily for the next kiddo. It was also great to have to take to family or friend's places for dinner.

  • Neither of these were on your list, but we love our IKEA high chair (can't beat the price and it's so easy to clean).

We also have the Fisher Price space saver and now use that for our almost 2 year old and have always used it when going to other people's houses or traveling.

  • If you're planning on having another kid in the next couple years, go with the 4 in 1.  My son still needs a booster (and likely will for a while) and I love that we've been able to put his booster on a regular chair and we still have the ability to use the high chair with the tray for DS2.

  • Have you considered the stokke Tripp trapp? Baby pulls right up to the table to eat with the family. It's brilliant.
