Success after IF

XP retrograde ejaculation

Hi,

I'm fairly new to the bump, my SO and I recently decided to start TTC. I stopped taking BCP in November and this is our third cycle since that.

My question has to do with SO. I have read about retrograde ejaculation. Although he hasnt actually been diagnosed with this, we have a suspicion this is what is going on. Sometimes some comes out, sometimes not much at all. He does orgasm but doesn't always ejaculate.

Since we are only on our third cycle, we haven't talkedabout seeing a Dr yet about it. Just wanted to wait and see how it went.

Is it something we need to see a Dr about now? Or is it something that we can wait and see until the 1 year mark?

Just curious about your experiences and input.

  • Sounds like RE to me, but definitely get in to a doctor for a diagnosis. Does DH have anything that could be causing this? My DH has type 1 diabetes so he is affected by RE as well as low motility. We were able to conceive twice via IVF with him being on a protocol of imipramine and sudafed.

Not that we know of. I know it can also be caused by certain drugs, or surgeries.. neither of which would be a reason for it for SO. So I'm not really sure where else it would be coming from. I think if this cycle doesn't work out for us, we will get him an appt and see what's going on and what we can do.
