Mobile: cleaning HE washer

I went to prep brand new diapers the other day using no detergent at all. Walked away and came back to sudsy water. It really looked as though I had added a full scoop of soap. I have been trying to tackle some ongoing minor ammonia issues in my ON diapers and I think I may have found the problem.

Can anyone recommend an effective way to clean out detergent buildup in a FL HE machine?

I use afresh periodically.  You can also just run an empty soak with a package of rlr. Tide washing machine cleaner smelled too strong for me.

Most HE washers have a cleaning cycle that you should run once a month. You should check your owner's manual to see if your washer has one or something similar.

Thanks everyone.  I will look into the Affresh tablets and hunt down our manual to see what suggestions it might have. 

 After running my last load of diapers on 8 separate wash cycles, I seem to have gotten rid of the soapy water and have some squeaky clean diapers!
