I was at work today and while looking at my patients monitor i was getting this spot right in the middle of the screen. I thought i was just looking at it too long at a too close of range. Then I went to the computer and nope, still can't see it very well. Well 1.5 hours later the blurryness finally went away and then i started getting a head ache. I was taking care of a really sick patient so i just called the dr. office to see what i could do, so i took my BP 139/82. Much higher then it has been. They think since i don't have swelling, and the blurred vision was just in one eye it was just a migraine. I guess my question would be now, how long do i let this headache last? It all started around 11ish and its now 7, and i still have a little bit of a headache.
Re: migraine????
It can last quite awhile especially when you don't take action when you first notice the migraine coming on. Prior to pregnancy, I'd gotten maybe three or four migraines in my life, mainly in my late teens, early twenties. Then nothing for probably 7 years. Since getting pregnant, I've had two migraines. One really bad because I didn't recognize it coming on and the second not so bad because as soon as I got the spots in my eyes I went home from work and laid down and blocked out all light.
My worst migraine lasted from mid-morning to fairly late in the evening. I would think/hope you wake up tomorrow morning feeling like a new person.
Im very sorry that you're having a migraine though. It is a terrible experience!

I never had any experience with migraines until pregnancy. I just lay down in bed with pillows over my head and pop a Tylenol.... usually seems to go away

I've had migraines since I was 18. I usually treated with a Rx, however, the few times that I haven't (including pregnancy) the migraine takes forever to go away. My shortest was 8 hours, my longest 3 days.
The only relief came from a dark and quiet room, it would definitely take the edge off. Sorry you have to go through this!
