DD will be 8 months on friday and still isnt that interested in food.
She nurses still and is in the high percentile for weight gain so i'm not super worried.
She doesn't like purees and although she will eat a little of soft foods I feel like she rather just chew on them for teething relief.
anyone else?
Re: Not really interested in food
I have to admit we are bad about giving her food on a regular basis, but that being said, she isn't really interested in much so far. She likes purees, and does well with oatmeal mixed with purees for flavor, but that's about it.
She doesn't have any teeth, so she's not interested in anything she has to chew yet, including cheerios. I give those to her regularly, and she picks them up and drops them to the floor. I just keep putting them out because the dog eats them when she drops them, so he'll like her better, and I figure eventually she'll try them.

DD eats NOTHING. And I mean that quite literally. We've tried 15-20 different purees and cereals, we've tried BLW. She will chew on a pizza crust - that's the closest we've gotten to actually eating.
She has NEVER, not once, swallowed a single bite of food. She gags, she shakes her head, she dodges the spoon, and if you happen to get a little bit in, she spits it back out.
Daycare sits her down with the other kids for lunch and she just watches them. Then, I try again at dinner with something different.
DD nurses plenty and I'm hanging on to that "Food before one, is just for fun" expression.
Same here, its very very very rare Ari actually eats anything... She has no issues with weight (99th percentile!!!) but she just isnt interested. I was trying every day, but recently I've just given up and am stock piling the baby foods given to us by WIC in hopes that when she's 1 I can mix it with things she'll actually eat, or give it to someone who needs it.
And yes, I am have heard that saying food before 1 is just for fun.. BUT I do worry that she might become a picky eater since she hasnt been exposed to as many foods as she should have been.... ??
Anyways, GL ladies!
