Car seat for an Escape

I saw another post or two about carseats so thought I'd join too!

I drive an Escape and we researched convertible seats and ended up ordering a Britax Advocate off Amazon for a super good deal. However, I hate it. I feel like there's barely any room to get DS in the seat even with it reclined back. I don't know if this is because of the specific seats, or I'd all seats in general suck!

Anyone drive an Escape and have a seat that works well for you with the vehicle?

  • I have a 2005 ford escape and I love our Britax Marathon. It works well rear and forward facing.

  • I have a 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid and use the S1 by safety first complete air convertible car seat and love it. It fits really well and does not take up a lot of room. The material is very easy to clean and LO enjoys riding in it, even on long trips.

  • I have a 2008 Escape and we use the Safety First True Fit Recline. It fits well, and we like the seat a lot. It's really easy to take the cover off to clean and easy to adjust the straps. I think it was $149, so middle of the road on price. It got great safety ratings too.

  • I just got rid of my 2005 Escape (we upgraded to an Odyssey) and I had  Boulevard RF'ing.  It was tight, but it fit.  Honestly, any car seat rear facing is going to be tight.

The Advocate is a huge seat because of the side impact add ons.

  • I have a 2013 Escape and we just got the Evenflo Symphony allinone. It fits great, the front seat doesn't have to be scootched forward or straight up, and I can still see DS in the mirror. He seems to like it too.
I was looking at the Safety 1st Alpha Omega allinone, but saw bad reviews about how difficult it was to get the correct angle for RF without having to move the front seat up all the way. It did seem much taller than the Synohony.
