Gah! WWYD?

So I have been planning on using frozen DE due to financial reasons, and found an office that I felt confident in. Well today they offered me some donors that are going to be cycling and are offering to split the fresh cycles so I can stay within our "budget". But here is the thing....I absolutly LOVE the donor I had in mind, she is not on the list :(

So would you chose someone close to what you want who has a good donation stats, or stick to your absolute favorite?

Re: Gah! WWYD?

  • I agree with pp it is a personal decision and go with your gut.

Funnily enough I am also doing transfer tomorrow with frozen donor eggs.

We found our perfect donor because she was cycling for another couple but they backed out.  I couldn't be made ready in time so they added her to their frozen egg bank.  The clinic held a set of her eggs for us and I started meds with my next cycle.

I was happy enough to go with frozen eggs, but I would have also gone fresh if we would have been able to claim all the retrieved eggs as our own (for future cycles/tries etc), but you won't be able to do that in a shared cycle.

But we are lucky, we were able to use our "perfect" donor, even if they were frozen eggs.  We have 3 frozen embryo which made it to 6 day blasts.  (we were guaranteed 2).

I think that other members of the board would stress that really you have to be  confident that your clinic uses the best technology to freeze and thaw the eggs.   Because there is a big difference in the survival rate of the eggs using different methods.  (Not that I know what that method is).

    Good Luck, whatever you do.

PS Super Stick Vibes to you MoonAggie.  Hope to see you on the other side.

Just felt conflicted since I had the possiblity of using fresh.
