DS has always been very content watching me do laundry, which is a good thing with all the laundry we have nowadays! Now that he is a pretty good sitter, he has a fascination with playing with the laundry basket and grabbing things out of it. Today he got ahold of one of his socks and proceeded to nom the heck out of it. He would get a big mouthful of it and squinch up his nose like he was attacking it. I cracked up!

DS had pancakes for the first time this weekend and every time he took a bite he made this deep throated growling sound. It was/is hilarious! He likes to eat them, so I like to think it's his way of saying mmmmmm! He had everyone in the restaurant cracking up, which of course he loved!

My bond girl name would be Cuddles Stanwood....not that movie worthy either!

Mine is loooong. I worked FT and in an on call position before DS. I've always worked 2 or 3 jobs but not because I needed to, just because I can't say no and the on call one literally fell in my lap. I had no intention of returning to on call after mat leave, but I didn't tell them that. I don't go back until May.

So after DS I started thinking I didn't want to go back FT. At the same time, my on call boss called and said she had a relief position if I wanted it. I decided I'd just go back to that.

I met with my boss this week and she asked how many hours I want in an ideal world, because relief staff are getting 4 to 6 days a week right now. I said 3 or 4 days max.

She offered me a part time position instead, with better pay, 3 days only, and more control over my schedule. She also said whenever I want to go FT she's happy to offer me FT, fully knowing it won't be for a few years.

I knew working my butt off would pay off one day!

And she is in a new convertible carseat now! Which makes me smile because I was too short and she was getting too heavy to get her in and out of the car in the carrier.

After breakfast, I washed DS's face and then let him play with the washcloth.  He then washed my face and loved it.  Also, we tried puffs.  He grabs one nd then holds it in his fist while he sucks his thumb.  I found him holding 3 puffs while sucking his thumb.  Then he wanted me to feed them to him.  Oh... He loves yogurt, too.  Learned that today.

DS was exhausted but refusing to nap so I put him in the crib sitting up with his taggy blanket and started doing some chores.  I kept peeking in and he was talking to the blanket and playing, heard a little fussing then silence so I went to check on him.  He was so cute, cuddling with the taggy sounds asleep . . . then I saw striped socks up against his ears and realized he'd fallen asleep sitting up and just folded in half! Wish I knew how to insert a photo.

After this I went to the grocery store with him and he blew juicy raspberries at everyone super loud.  Even for an 8th month old it was bordering on rude, I couldn't stop cracking up which just encouraged him to be bolder and juicer with them!

 GTKY: Henry Kendall . . . that would be an interesting bond movie, don't think they are going there any time soon.

My LO gets so excited when we play Pat-A-Cake with her and it always makes her smile which of course makes me smile The bigger and more exaggerated we make it, the more fun she has

I lay down on my back, knees bent, and hold DS so he stands on my pelvis. Then I do situps and kiss his cheek, alternating sides each time. It absolutely cracks him up every time! And I get a tiny workout in the process.

Today I put DD in the grocery cart w the cover for the first time. She loved it and smiled at everyone that walked by. Such a ham!!!
