Playgroup Times (CP)

So as part of my new PT job, I'm trying to get a parents and tots group started up for Jewish families in the area.  The location we want to hold it has offered us a few possibilities for times.  Since most of the kids we're aiming for would be around our LOs' ages, what would be your preference?

Personally, since I work during the week, I'd want something on the weekend. This would also allow us to do it as a family, or for my husband to take part if he wanted too, which I'm assuming wouldn't work for anyone during the week because one parent would be working.

I will say though, that most mommy & me activities in my area are during the week (the one held at LBB's school is Tuesday mornings at 9).  So that always colors my view because there are few activities that cater to working families, and we enjoy a sense of community and are searching for things to do with our children too!

I voted "other" but that is because it is one of my pet peeves right now. Being a working Mom I am having a very difficult time finding anything for DS and I to do together such as library story time, play groups, etc. Heck even Kindermusik was cancelled on us unless we could make it to the daytime class (which we can't since we have to work). Given that, I think it would be nice if it was at a time where everyone had the chance to attend .

I voted "other" because I hate, hate, hate morning anything. I can't stand having mommy or story times in the mornings because I just can't seem to get out of the house until after naptime. 

A 3pm playgroup would be perfect IMO. I prefer weekday things, as a SAHM.

I need to be home for when the older kids get off the bus and before nap time.  I like mid-morning activities.  Nights are too busy and so are weekends.

My thoughts are a weekend would be nice for the reasons PP stated.  I would not choose a weekday early afternoon- that's nap time, and no one messes with Nap time unless they are taking a cranky baby the rest of the evening!

Thanks for the input, ladies.  Good point about needing to be home for older kids, Penny.  Our original plan had been for slightly later in the afternoon, like 2 or 3pm, because of naps in the early afternoon.  But the parents with older kids would have an issue then.

Our ideal is to actually do one or two each month on a Sunday and one or two on a weekday, to get the best of both worlds with regards to working and SAH parents.  But I think we'll probably have to build up to that, and I'm trying to figure out what's best to start with.
