OMG...DH is ready for TTC

I think I got my 1st period postpartum last month. It was really light and I spotted two weeks after that. Anyways DH mentioned last night about getting pregnant again. I'm not opposed, We've been active since DD was 5 weeks old. I had an easy pregnancy and delivery, so going through that again won't be a big deal. It's taking care of DD now that is so very TIRING! I went back to work last month and I take care of her most of the time at night. My mom is great about watching DD when I go to work. Lucky for me that DD is STTN now (8hr stretch at night).

DH does help, but doesn't do a whole lot. That's probably why he doesn't mind going for baby #2.

Not even sure if I can get pregnant right now, but DH will have to help out A LOT if we have another baby. It took me 2 months to get pregnant with DD. We'll see what happens...

Anyone else want baby #2 already?

This right here should be a HUGE red flag that needs to be addressed before anyone starts to think about having another child...especially when thinking about 2u2.

  • I think about it all the time actually. I miss being pregnant. I am also trying to think financially. If DH and I could financially do it within the next year, we probably would. We have recently moved into our new house and would just like to settled in a bot more and to fix things up a  bit before we add another baby in the mix. Although, I would love to have another LO!

Umm, didn't you have *the first* baby on the Nov 12 board? I wouldn't say that was easy considering she was in the NICU for awhile..

Glad I'm not the only one!  Dr. said to use condoms since I haven't gotten AF yet, but DH won't buy them.  (I refuse on principle, since I always bought the pill, he can buy the dang condoms!)  So I keep saying "We can't dtd till you get condoms!" and he'll say we can just try for #2.  Boy, you crazy.  I did NOT love being pregnant, being 11 days overdue, having near debilitating PPD, etc.  Yes I want 1 or 2 more, but we'll be waiting at least a year.

Yup, that's where my mind went Hmm

Also, didn't you push your baby out because you thought you were doing a BM? Maybe the second one should wait a little bit..

  • Wow you girls have great memories! Yes I had my DD 2 months early at 32 weeks. We spent 3 weeks in the NICU. It seemed long at the time, but looking back now...it wasn't so bad. My DD luckily never had any health problems and had a short and uneventful stay at the NICU. She's a happy and healthy girl now!

I want to have Baby #2 eventually, but I'm in no rush right now. I'm wondering if being older at 35 is affecting my thoughts. I can't wait too long right? Doctors seems to worry about moms over 35.

  • We are not.

I loved being pregnant and couldn't be happier with B. Unfortunately we are living in an apartment and have agreed to wait until we are in a house to start TTC again.

I get so excited thinking about it though!

  • If DH gave it the green light I would be all for it. I think about it more than I let him know. He is a huge help with G and I would even safely say we both share the same amount of responsiblity with G especially since I came back to work. He says we can talk about it when G turns 1...I am hoping he says ok before then!

I agree with this completely. 1 is an adjustment. 2 is just pure chaos. Seriously.

We'll be going for at least one more, but... not right away.  Probably start TTC again in another year or so.

Ditto. I'm totally in baby love and would like another tomorrow, but I guarantee once teething and mobility happen, I'll be willing to wait longer!

  • We will begin TTC in July (with the doctor's blessing). I am going to 40 in October. Doctors would rather see me pregnant sooner than later.

I did fairly with V's pregnancy. The first 33 weeks were great. I actually felt better than I have in many years because of the normal rise in BP. My BP and HR are normally so low that between pregnancy (and my pacemaker) I felt terrific.

At 33 weeks the swelling started to rapidly get worse. I was already a scheduled C-section for 38 weeks 4 days so when my BP took a sharp increase and my blood numbers went haywire we did a C-section at 35 weeks 6 days, V spent 8 days in NICU (only on cpap and O2 for 3 days)

While I know not waiting a full year before TTC we figure between my health stuff and my age and my fairly good experience with past pregnancy we would be in better shape.

As a teacher---works for me as well. If I conceive in July or August I would deliver in April or May which would mean my 12 weeks FMLA would take me through the end of the year. Then we would have 2 extra months. That would mean new LO would be 4 or 5 months before I had to go back in September.
