Woohoo/Susie question

Alright, so we're all adults here so I am positive it's difficult to have a question that's TMI.

There have been a few ladies that have posted about this, but I only see one today and it doesn't answer my question. So I feel like I am getting a yeast infection. I am not extremely itchy, just a little bit and it's mostly noticeable when I go to the bathroom and am wiping. I am not peeing as much as I was last week even though I am drinking the same amount of water (at least 2 liters a day). So I feel like I am getting a little itchier throughout the day but nothing I have to grope myself over.

I've had yeast infections before, but usually I have to have a steroid or something from the Dr but that's when they are full blown and way worse. So here's my question, is there anything I can get/use to help it go away and not blow into a full fledged infection?

Luckily I do have my 17 week checkup on Friday with my Dr so if it does persist I can talk to her then, but I really am hoping it goes away here in the next couple of days!

Help ladies! My susie/woo hoo needs some TLC (and not the sort that got me knocked up). :)

  • If talk to your doctor, but try diaper rash cream externally. If you have a yeast infection you need antibiotics.

I forgot to mention this too, last Saturday was my last day of taking some antibiotics for a spider bite that I had. Do you think that could have attributed to it? Last yeast infection I had was because I was taking penicillin for something. So I'm thinking my body doesn't like these medicines!

I currently have a yeast infection and apparently pregnancy and antibiotics greatly increase your chance of getting an infection...so I'd say that's likely it. if it isn't too uncomfortable, I wouldn't worry about it before you go to your doctor

It could be, but I'm no doctor. I'd ask your OB about that. I'm sorry about the spider bite. I got bit by a hobo spider, a relative of the brown recluse, and it was crazy painful.

Yea the first day it was just kind of itchy but then the next day it was HUGE and red. You could actually see the two "prong" marks from where it bit me. I went to the Dr since it was so big and to make sure baby was ok. I knew my arm wasn't going to fall off but there's always the question in the back of your mind haha.

Thanks for the advice about the baby rash cream. I'm going to keep an eye on it and depending on how it is later tonight/tomorrow I'll call my OB to see what she says.

I can honestly say that I have never heard a vagina referred to as a Susie or a woohoo.

That's all I got out of this post. I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.

:) You're welcome. There's a friend of mine at work that feels uncomfortable with the word vagina so she's always called it a susie. Her mom does the same thing apparently. It was the first I had heard it too but it makes me giggle every time.

actually yeast infections are often caused by taking antibiotics, because the medication kills all the good flora.  I have had persistent yeast infections for years, so in fact you need an anti-fungal, such as monistat. I have one right now and it hasn't cleared up on its own/with natural remedies so my doctor gave me the go-ahead to use  monistat 7 day, good luck OP!

Forgive me, I thought OTC yeast creams/treatments were unsafe during pregnancy?

According to my doctor's practice, they are on the list of OK drugs. https://www.prevea.com/display/displayFile.aspx?docid=1964&filename=/PDF_Files/OB_booklet-Sheboygan_rev.pdf Page 13 if that link works.

As we all know though, every practice is different!

It's safe, thank god! I just held off as long as possible to see if I could knock it out on my own, trying to avoid taking any medications. The OTC stuff is safe, but my midwives said they try to avoid the harder-core stuff like Diflucan or other prescription oral pills to get rid of the infection, so they always tell patients to try monistat first.

Oh ok. I don't have experience with frequent YI. Thanks for answering my question!
