What's the deal with my pockets?

Lately, they have been leaking/wicking out the legs like crazy!  Sometimes after only an hour.  I thought it was because DS has been in his jumper a lot and it was just compression leaks.  Now, that I'm paying attention to it, I have noticed it happening even when he hasn't been in his jumper at all.  I stripped them and it seemed to help, but maybe it was just in my head because it's happening again.  It seems worse with my BGs, but it happens with pretty much every brand. I know it's not the fit.  When it happens, the inserts are wet in the middle, but not totally soaked.  Any ideas?  Can pocket styles just stop working as well for some babies?

What are you using for inserts?

DD pees a lot and all at once in the morning, and if I don't add enough absorbency (or if J isn't paying attention to what he's doing and uses the wrong diaper) it doesn't catch all the pee before it leaks out the legs. The inserts are wet only in the middle when that happens.

I happens with bamboo and charcoal bamboo inserts.  Maybe I will try doubling up and see if that helps.
