I am about to go crazy (or crazier!!)
I have 2 year old twin girls. They are in little toddler beds, they share a room. And they will not go to bed without a fight. Sometimes it is 3 hours before I can get them both to sleep. We have tried a few different routines. I have even let them cry. They both want to be on Mommy's lap (fighting "my Mommy" "No, MY Mommy")...When they stay at my parents' or my in-laws', they go to sleep and sleep until 9:00 in the morning. (They are up at our house by 7:30, 8:00 at the latest.) When they stay with my sister, they walk themselves into their room and go to sleep and sleep all night. We just had a babysitter at our house, and they both went right down for a nap for her.
Is it their age and not wanting me to leave? The only common thing that is with the other places is that I am not there!!!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Re: Bedtime
This is a challenge for us too and our twin girls are now 3. I dread bedtime because they never go down easy. That's usually because at least one of them will want to stay up, if not both, so we have the odds against us!
I think having a play buddy in their room at night is what causes the challenges. Although they're tired, they just want to continue playing with each other. If we leave their room, they sometimes don't care bc then they can jump on their beds and NOT go to sleep.
I don't want to separate them bc I don't think they'd be happy being in different rooms, but that just leaves us back to square 1 of constantly fighting with them to go to sleep!! They used to have such good sleeping patter, but at around 2.5, that all changed... Hoping bedtime gets easier for us sometime in the near future!
