Birthing Ball

What do you do with your birthing/exercise ball?  I bounce on mine and rock/roll myself front to back and side to side, with my feet fairly wide apart.  LO has already dropped, but I feel like she could always drop some more so I sit on my birthing ball while working at my desk and try to always keep moving.  Any suggestions?

Re: Birthing Ball

  • I do those same things and just recently discovered it feels soooo good to get on your knees and lean over the ball. You can rock this way too. It takes soo much pressure off my back and feels amazing! (Might not want to do that at work, though hehe)

  • I second PP - get on your knees and lean over the ball.  I spent a lot of time like that when I was in labor with DD and it took the pressure off my back.

I usually just sit on mine and roll my hips around.

Eh I'm working from home so only my dogs will know! I will give this a try too, there is definitely enough pressure on my back right now so I am sure this will feel amazing!

  • My bed and dresser are really close together so I put my ball between them and lean my shoulders back on the bed, and brace my feet on the dresser.  It REALLY stretches my lower back! Plus, with the ball able to roll a bit between the bed & dresser, I can get back up without having to call someone for help.  But I pretty much do what everyone else has been saying.
