LO's position... anyone else?

So our LO turned and dropped a few weeks ago.. yay!! She seems to have stayed in that position, but now she is completely on the left side of my bump!  I have this huge bulge and she has been there for two days, she still moves and wiggles but always stays on this side.  Her head is still low, I can tell when she gets hiccups :-).  Anyone else's LO completely on one side or acting silly lately?  I have an appointment tomorrow so I am curious to see if she stays to the one side or not.

Re: LO's position... anyone else?

  • My baby has been in an LOT/LOA position for most of the third trimester.  I have a hard lump just to the left of my belly button and feel kicks and stretched on the right side under my ribs.

My MWs say this is the perfect position for labor, so yay for us!!!!

Woo hoo!! That is great news! Glad I'm not the only one, and I am a FTM so this makes me extremely happy to know this is the perfect position for labor!

  • This baby is in the exact same position--if I lay on my back, my belly is totally lopsided to the left and all kicking action is on the upper right side. I get hiccups in my lower left pelvis area and sometimes what I think are karate chops, which are super awesome when they land squarely on my bladder. I swear this must be the comfiest place because baby chose this position and has stayed here for weeks!

  • I get pain usually in the night, when she shifts to one side or the other. Then I get up and go to the bathroom and have a massive lump on that side.

  • Mine has been head down practically the whole pregnancy! Most of the time baby is ROA but has shifted to OA or LOA sometimes depending on how I lay, walk or sit. I hope when baby drops I'm as lucky as you with positioning!

  • Yes, mine has always been on my right side with legs curled over to the left.  Definitely feel like I've got a bruise on the left inside of my uterus from constant kicking and kneeing in the same spot. I feel like she's never been in any other position, to the point of me freaking out one day when she did shift position and things felt different.  After a couple hours she went back to her favorite spot.  I like feeling where her butt and back are so I can give them a pat or a rub if she's really kicking a lot.

We do the same thing! My husband will rub my belly and yell "Penelope Butt!" haha... same when her little feet kick my side, too cute!

Yay this is my LO's position too! Has been for quite a few weeks now. The annoying part is when people ask why my belly looks lopsided..ugh.
  • Our LO has been in a similar positions for months now.  I think the bulges I get are from his butt pushing out.  Your LO is probably just trying to find the most comfortable position with all the cramped space.  :)
