I think I pulled a muscle in my back. It is so painful!!! And it is on my left side, so sleeping will be not fun tonight. Has anyone else done this or something like this? Any suggestions?
Do some stretches, it may hurt while doing them. But it helps a little. Otherwise use a heating pad.nbsp;
This, haven't pulled muscles in my back but once pulled every muscle in my stomach. This really helps. Also, you may want some tylenol. Just to take some of the edge off but it isn't necessary. If you aren't comfortable taking it, then don't.

That does sound painful. One thing we were taught in birthing class a couple years ago was to have your spouse/partner/friend rub a tennis ball over your back where the sore muscles are. It is surprisingly relaxing and can work out small knots. I have DH do tennis balls when I pull muscles and then follow it up with a little bit of Vicks Vapor Rub to increase the circulation in the area and relieve the tension. It works wonders for me. Hope your back feels better!
Added Note: It works best if you take a pillow, straddle an armless chair, sit facing the back of the chair, and put the pillow between you and the back of the chair for padding. This way your back is exposed and slightly arched forward.
I've pulled muscles in my back 3 times now thanks to lifting, moving and most recently shoveling. Heating pas works great and if hubby can rub for you that's even better! Warm bat works wonders for me too!
