Sippy cups?

Ive been trying really hard to get my DD to start getting used to sippy cups but so far shes just biting them. Is your LO using sippy cups? When did you make the transition and how?? TIA!

My DD was doing this with every straw and sippy cup we tried. Then we tried one of those training straw cups by Playtex. You can squeeze the cup every time they suck to help get the liquid into their mouths - they quickly figure out that they can suck on their own. And even if they don't suck, you can give it a little squeeze when they put it to their mouths and they'll figure it out. I spent about 20 solid minutes (using water of course - milk would be too messy!) working with my DD when she was 8.5 months, and then she finally got it. Now she drinks from straws and sippy cups like a champ!

(We got ours at the grocery store, but I've seen them all over. Oh, and the cups themselves aren't that great for long-term use - they leak a bit - but great to get the baby started on cups!)

Le sigh.... DS will turn up a sippy and drink, drink, drink, then everything still in his mouth as he brings the cup down just spills out of his mouth. 

Try different cups and keep trying 'till it happens.  It will happen eventually that they will drink from the sippy and no longer the bottle :-)

Same. She was biting them for a long time. She's 10.5 mos now and is just starting to realize and want to drink out of them. I still use bottles for the big feeds, but put water in a sippy for meal time so she gets used to it. Took me a while to find one she was okay with too. Keep trying and don't give up. It will happen
