My DH is a SAHD for a few months since DS can't go into daycare this winter.  Well he just emailed me and said my MIL "Told him" that he "HAS" to take her out for lunch on Wednesday and that DS "HAS" to be there.  When he said he didn't want DS there she whined that this would ruin her entire birthday. DH stood firm and said they could go get takeout but he was not taking DS to a restaurant in the middle of flu season. Apparently she is moping but she finally said ok.  Can I also mention that she needs a full week celebration and has to get a gift from FIL every day of the week before her birthday? I'm just so glad that DH stood up to her!

MIL is also ridiculous on our side. She demanded she fly out to see us 2 days after the girls were born, and HAD to stay with us (hotels were not allowed, apparently). DH told her no. When we let her come out a month later, the NICU scared her to death, and then she followed up with an E-mail, "You really have to see in person to appreciate how difficult this is for you guys."

No $h!t. That's why we didn't want you to visit in the first place. ::facepalm::

Brummy at least she figured it out I guess!! My mil tried to get us to pity her!!! She was complaining to me about how hard it is to see her grandchild in nicu and how no one understands. Ummmm he's my son. I think I have an inkling!!!

I just hope I'm never like that to his future spouse!
