Beta #2 update

I had my first beta last Thursday which was right at 14 days after my IUI and it was 1.0 so they said thats not considered pg plus I had 5 BFN tests at home. Ive since had 4 BFP tests starting Saturday night. I went back in today and my beta was only 34 which they said they would like to see that higher but that I could have ovulated or implanted late or both so the number was ok and my progesterone was 30.1 and they were really happy with that number because they said they like it to be atleast 20. I go back Friday for another check but now I feel a tad bit worried because I of course googled it and it seems like alot of ppl are in the hundereds range at this stage. Anyone else have lower numbers at this point? Im only 4w1d if that cause we think I ovulated and implanted late. Any info would be great, thanks ladies!

Re: Beta #2 update

  • I don't have a ton of experience with that except that I woudln't google too much, and just try and focus on the fact that as of right now you ARE pregnant!! Relax this week, put your feet up, take it easy and hopefully Friday will bring you great news!!  I know that my SIL was basically told her level was so low that she would prob miscarry (So I imagine her level was lower than yours) and it turns out she just O'ed and implanted late and went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and baby who is now 10 months old!  So don't give up hope :)

  • If you did implant late, then it sounds like you are doing okay (to me) numberwise.  If you are supposed to double approximately every 48 hours, you should theoretically be much lower than a 34 if you started at 1 on Thursday.  Even if you quadrupled every 48 hours, you would only be at a 16 now.  Count yourself as pregnant, and congrats!  And, yeah, try not to Google (although much easier said than done).

I have an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday morning at a different place because my RE wants someone else to take a look. Then I have a 1:00 pm appt at the RE to discuss the results. I've been a complete basket case but I'm anxious to have answers, whatever those might be. To be honest I so lot want babies that are almost 4 weeks apart! It makes me so nervous to think about delivering the later one so early! But I'm getting ahead of myself need to see what the Dr says. I also am still anxiously awaiting my husbands cystic fibrosis test results since now they are more meaningful.

    Aren't you glad you asked??
  • LOL sounds like a lot to take in! I wish you luck!

  • From what I understand, beta numbers vary greatly. FX that your next beta is great and puts your mind at ease!
