The good and the bad

I posted on Friday that on 10dpIUI I had a positive hpt but was spotting, which was followed on Sat with full-blown AF. In fact, unusually heavy. This morning I had my CD3 b/w and u/s, and immediately the u/s tech started asking me questions....when did you get AF? Has it been heavy? She mentioned that my lining was very thick (almost 19mm) which would be extremely unusual if this was AF.

The RE just called to confirm my pregnancy. Beta was 50, and I have to go back on Wed for another test. Unfortunately with such heavy bleeding they are expecting my levels to drop and this be a chemical pregnancy, which means no further treatments this cycle. These past few days have been quite a rollercoaster. Crying

  • I am so so sorry :(  So they did a pregnancy test as part of your CD3 bloodwork?  I'm trying to gather if that is the norm or not, after the on call Dr basically told me "If a patient tells us they have a normal period we see no reason to do a test." Just curious what other REs do...

Thank you. And yes, an hcg test is a standard part of CD3 b/w at my RE, and I assumed it was everywhere? They will not move forward with your next cycle without confirmation you are not pregnant.
