how often do you feel movement?

How often do you feel LO move? Does your little one have periods or days with no movement?

Re: how often do you feel movement?

  • I am 24 weeks, and I feel movement probably 5 or 6 times a day. She always starts moving as soon as I wake up in the morning, but the rest of the time it's just when ever she feels like it. I have not gone days without feeling her since about 18 or 19 weeks. At this point I would be pretty worried if I didn't feel her at least a few times a day.

  • He is very active, so I feel him quite a bit. It's been a couple weeks since I have went days without feeling movement.
  • I usually get a morning burst... and an evening chunk.... and sometimes right when Hubby gets home and starts telling about his day- kiddo likes to punctuate daddy's stories!

  • I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow. I feel at least one bump or flip daily. Some days more, some days less. LO is particularly active first thing in the morning and around dinner time. Or if I've been walking.

Same for my little guy.  And I swear, he invites friends over and has a dance party the second I try to go to sleep... I hope this is not a preview of things to come......

    ETA: change wrong word.

  • I mostly feel DS after I eat. I think when I eat he wakes up because he's getting my food so he moves and kicks. Other than that he's pretty quiet.

  • Recently I feel my little girl all the time - at least every couple of hours and sometimes for 10-15 min at a time. I had a 24 or so hour period where I didn't feel her at all or much a few weeks ago but I cannot remember going a day since then.

I know that regular, consistent movement/feeling is not expected until 28 weeks. At that point I believe we should be feeling movement 10-15 times each 1-2 hours or something like that.

  • I honestly don't feel much.  Sometimes it feels like something and I second guess myself because it's faint. :(

  • Pretty regularly though out the day. A few weeks ago she was on a schedule it seemed like, 7am, 330pm, & 830pm. Saturday was a lazy day which I didn't like but other than that she's all over the place pretty sporadically during the day and night,

  • I feel him the most on the mornings and then around 8 at night. I feel some movement during the day but it is sporadic.
  • She kind of has a routine, she's really active after I eat dinner and when I lay down for bed. But the past week she's been active in little spurts all day long.

  • Daily at one time or another. Sometimes on an especially active day I'll feel movement multiple times a day.

  • Daily. Most often LO is quite in the mornings and then pretty active from breakfast on. Especially when DH comes home and plays with our dog.

  • Better question would be when I don't feel movement. This little guy is super active so I feel some degree of movement pretty much all day.

He has a few quite times in the day but he's pretty much moving when I wake up or I'm trying to sleep, sit down after being on my feet for a while, change my clothes, shower, eat, lean on my tummy on anything or rest anything against my tummy even a hand.

He tends not to move when I want him (when someone wants to feel him move)  and I hardly ever feel him when I'm busy, standing up or walking around.

  • I'm 24.5 weeks and I feel movement daily, at different times throughout the day---mostly in the morning and evening. I even feel her kicking while I sleep now (like if I happen to wake up before my alarm she will be kicking sometimes)
  • Couple of times a day now. I usually feel a lot of movement when I first get to work (around 9 am), then again after lunch, and a ton late in the evening (9-12). There will be random kicks in between then, and every once in a while he'll have "quiet" days where I only feel a few kicks here and there.

  • Daily, but not when I'm busy. If awhile has gone by without any movement I just sit down and I feel it. H can feel it on the outside now too, she was going nuts while he was playing music for her on Friday night.

  • When I first started noticing movement, it was a little something every couple of days.  At this point, I tend to notice it at least once a day - most days several different times during the day.

This!  I feel him moving 5-6 times a day, at least!  DH finally caught him yesterday too, he was so excited to feel him moving so much earlier than our DD.

  • For about the last week I have felt movement daily. My dr said it wasn't a big deal if I didn't feel him every day but over the next couple of weeks I needed to take notice if he was quiet for too long.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • I feel LO multiple times a day. He is most active early morning and when I lay down for bed. I also feel him after I eat usually as well as occasionally thought the day. This is my 2nd and I've felt definite movement since 17 weeks. DH can feel him in the morning and at night since 19 weeks.

  • At this point, I feel movement at least once daily. More so if I have a sugary drink. After last nights milkshake he was dancing!

  • Off and on all day for the past couple of weeks. She's more active when I'm sitting at my desk at work after lunch, and in the evenings. But I definitely have periods where I'll feel nothing at all, or days where she doesn't move as much.

  • Daily, but I notice if I'm on my feet a lot, s/he is quieter.  Always after I eat lunch and sit down, and always in the evening after dinner.  One night I was watching Youtube music videos on my laptop, and LO was going crazy!

  • VERY often... I can feel him squirming now, not just kicking. I LOVE it.

Matter of fact, he just kicked me as I was typing this.

  • A few times a day, usually after I eat and when I'm laying down in bed.
  • Mine is usually pretty active all throughout the day.

But I haven't felt him more than just once or twice since Saturday night.

I may or may not be panicking. But I don't want to freak out unnecessarily.

  • I feel my LO pretty often, definitely every day... especially first thing in the morning & evening and anytime I eat or where I'm around music. I really didn't start feeling the baby move consistently until around 22 weeks, where I feel the baby all day long;-)

  • I am 21.5 weeks and don't feel movement because of where my placenta is placed. It's acting as a cushion between my stomach and the baby.  It does makes me nervous at times but doc tells me it's normal.
  • This little guy is an active one! I feel him pretty much all day long. There will be times where he is still for an hour or so but that's rare. He's always kicking and moving around :)

Same here. I've noticed he gets really riled up if I eat a cheeseburger lol. Little guy likes beef I guess!

  • i pretty much have his sleeping schedule figured out, although he does randomly have active times now and then. hes a 3-4am then after lunch and dinner, then 8pm.
  • My little guy is non stop. I love to just sit on the couch and watch my belly start "dancing". He is a very active little man, as I type this he is kicking me lol

  • I'd say at least once a day for the past week.  I quit all caffeine in the first trimester, but in the past week, I had an iced tea last Thursday and half a cup of hot tea yesterday.  LO seems to be most active right after a little bit of caffeine.  After the iced tea, he wouldn't stop dancing until I went for a walk.
