Nose Bleeds

Is anyone dealing with this? It seems like every 3rd time I blow my nose (constantly congested) I get a nose bleed. They don't last very long but they are annoying. I sleep with a humidifyer on but it doesn't seem to be helping. My nose is so sad and sore. Today was the breaking point for me, I ended up bleeding all over my work clothes in the first 1/2 hour of work because I couldn't get tissues out fast enough.

Please help!

Re: Nose Bleeds

  • I don't have any advice, but I can sympathize. My sinuses hate me anyway, so pregnancy just makes it that much more fun. I am currently fighting off a cold and having been having the same issue. Happens every pregnancy. All I do is just make sure I am using a humidifier and occasionally sport the always sexy "tissue hanging out of one nostril" look. For me it will get better once the weather stops being so stupid. Hope that will help you too!

  • I've always had a problem with nosebleeds and they have come back full force since I've been pregnant too.  For me the thing that works best is using a q-tip to put Vaseline in each nostril before bed and once during the day, it really helps me. If I forget to put the Vaseline in I'm guaranteed a nosebleed in the morning.

  • I have this trouble and the ONLY thing I've found that helps is the humidifier and using a saline nose spray a few times a day I use Simply Saline because there aren't a bunch of additives. I normally get nosebleeds even when I'm not pregnant and this winter has been so dry so I feel your nosebleed pain. Hope this helps!
  • I can relate, I know its so annoying. In my teens I got nosebleeds all the time, and I've a had couple in the past few weeks. I never found a good way to prevent them, just got better at dealing with them. When ever I feel any little bit of dripping my instinct it to check if its bleeding. I'm so paranoid about ruining my clothes, especially all these new maternity clothes, that if I don't see kleenex I just bend over a garbage can (or the floor) and ask someone to go get me some. Also good thing to know about blood, if you can get to a sink to rinse it off while its fresh you will have no stain (oh yes, I've been undressing in the bathroom while holding a kleenex to my bleeding nose before). That's about all I can offer.

  • Ugh. I'm having them too... I have only had them once or twice where its running out of my nose, but if I'm crying (which, i cry over every little possible thing now), sometimes when i blow my nose, its all blood. it's disgusting and I hate it! I have the humidifier but I'm going to start the vaseline. Hopefully that helps. You're not alone! It's so irritating!

Same here! I've always had issues with nose bleeds and its 20x worse during pregnancy. Hang in there, you're not alone!
