Someone on my FB posted this article (I use the term article loosely here) and said how true it was. It made me LoL. The fit have about as hard a time as those dear persecuted christians.

I'm pretty fit and I don't feel persecuted. I do live in a pretty fit niche of the world, though. Yeah, I've had people say things along the same lines in the article, but I just think it's their issue, not mine.

Once, when I still lived in KY, a lady told me that I didn't need to keep coming to the gym and making people like her (bigger woman) feel bad. She said I was already skinny, why come to the gym? I wasn't offended, but I did think it was funny.

Sounds like you may be the "hater" he is referring to. I know he probably wrote this tongue-in-cheek but there is a lot of truth to it.

I was actually replying to Little Jerry but I guess to several. First time posting on here so not really sure how it works - I hit reply on that post but it went under yours.

I will admit I am not as fit as I want to be but I do think it is real for non-fit people trying to become fit. My circle is not healthy and it is so hard for me to break out of that. If you don't experience it I guess it is hard to explain. Sorry I didn't mean to offend you.

The author of that article seems to have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with the gym and what they perceive to be healthy eating. There's a healthy lifestyle, then there's an all consuming interest in your body. Or "figure" as they put it. Eating disorders are a spectrum.

The one thing I will say is people do tend to talk behind the backs of women who are both slim and exercise speculating about possible eating disorders. But yeah, considering on the whole slim people get paid more than overweight people...

This article is ridiculous. I don't doubt that those things have been said but to write an article boo-hooing about it? It reminds me of Chandler on Friends - My wallet's too small for my fifties and my diamond shoes are too tight!

And who cares if someone thinks you eat tofu just because you are fit. Newsflash: that is not discrimination. Again, maybe this guy's coworkers are such haters because when someone offers him seconds he says "No thanks I like looking like me."

Although I would be annoyed if my relatives told me I was anorexic just because I was skinny.
