Organizing for consignment sale? NMR

Can anyone share how they get things ready when selling in a consignment sale? I'm selling for the first time at our mutiples club sale and they use my consigment manager online - it seems overwhelming to get things together, entered, tagged.  Wondering if any of you have perfected a system?

How does it work? My local one works by entering info online, printing out a label, then attaching the label to whatever you're selling. Is that about how yours works? In my case I collect everything for the sale at once. I just make a pile - sometimes it's pretty big. I did it after DS was asleep so he wouldn't try to hijack anything from the pile. My sale requires you put a lot of things in groups. I would go through my categories (clothes, toys, baby stuff, shoes, etc) and put them into groups (5 onesies, 2 outfits, 2 pairs of shoes, etc). So I'd start with clothes and group them. Then I'd put all the info online, print out the tags, and attach them to each group. I'd move onto my next category and go from there. It also helped because when I dropped them off at the sale I had to put them out by their categories (toys over by the wall, clothes hanging up by size and gender, etc).

Yes that seems to be the system we are working on.  I think it will take hours to go through and enter and label every piece of clothing so I'm trying to work in batches. Just wondering if it's a good idea to enter the items, print the labels, attach and hang everything as I go - or enter everything and then print labels all at once, etc.

I found it harder to enter everything and print / label at once. I would have to search for things and it ended up taking longer. You could always make a small batch of whatever you have handy then enter, print, label, and move onto a new batch.
