Welcome to our fifth check-in ladies  Let's jump right in, shall we??

1. Milestones/Challenges?

2. Random Question: Weather, what else? I know the New England gals got the brunt of it, but us Midwest Mama's weren't too far behind (oh I like that, "Midwest Mama's" <-- we might need to rename our checkin thread ;P). Were you snowed in? How many inches did you get? Did it affect any plans you had?

3. Bonus Points: PIP's And here's our latest updated blog roll (not including me, we have 25 Midwest Mama's!). Hope to see a lot of cute Midwest babies

1. Milestones/Challenges? Our big milestone this week is that he is now in his crib! He's adjusted very well to it, and is sleeping seven (to sometimes nine) hours (falls asleep around six-though sometimes as late as eight; wakes up between one and three then), and then one/two hour chunks after a quick soothing session. As you can see, it's still a bit all over, depending on his day sleep, and/or when he falls asleep, but hey, seven hours (sometimes up to nine), is an absolute blessing!

Challenge has been more for me, adjusting to him not being in the room with me, when I fall asleep. Thank God for the Snuza and baby monitors! Yesterday we forgot his prune juice, and he didn't sleep well day or night, soooo blah, but tonight will be better I'm sure  

Also, we've been using the E.A.S.Y. method (it's been a little hit or miss between scheduling conflicts/gas/teething), but he absolutely loves the schedule of it, and is doing really well on it, too (we had tried a few weeks ago, but he just wasn't ready yet).

2. Random Question: Weather, what else? We got anywhere between four to six inches, and I had to miss church again, sigh. Really am ready for spring - winter with a newborn sucks!

3. Bonus Points: PIP's DS in his crib, sucking his thumb for the first time this week (not just his whole fist!), and practicing tummy time in his crib, as well

Hi! I'm a Michigan momma Looks like first one!

1. Milestones/Challenges?

We have two:

 - One, I'm just getting back to work (this is my 2nd Monday back). Last week ended up being a 3 day work-week (whoop Friday snowday!) so it was a nice transition. Still trying to get the morning routine done, but managed to be on time today

 - Two, DD has been moved into her Pack 'n Play and is sleeping great! AMEN! I realized she was done with her bassinet when I found her face pressed against the side - AHH! She enjoys spinning while sleeping apparently. Now if I can just get rid of the 4am feeding that would be ideal... any ideas appreciated!! She goes down about 9pm and sleeps til 6:30, but dreamfeeds 4 ounces at 4am (w/a paci-soothing at 1:30).

2. Random Question: Weather, what else?

Michigan has such insane weather! We got about 8 inches on Friday right before the morning commute so my boss called me off of work. By 10am, the roads were completely fine. Today it is mid 40s and raining...

1. Milestones/Challenges?

Milestones: We were finally able to put B in his Bumbo for a few minutes without him crying! He loves being able to look around and see everything!

Challenges: I work about 20 hours on weekends and DH and I never really get to spend much time together with B alone. The only night we have together is Thursdays and we are constantly getting the guilt trip from grandparents to leave B with them. Our family time is so precious and I wish we had more of it!

2. Random Question: I was expecting a little more snow than we actually ended up with. I think the news said around 2" it looks like the major snow was a bit more north of us! I actually got called off from work on Sunday night so DH and I ran some errands and relaxed at home. It was really nice!

1. Milestones/Challenges?

B is more and more interactive each week, and I'm loving all the smiles and the 'conversations' that we have each day.

Sleep has definitely become a challenge, both during the day and at night. 

2. Random Question: Weather, what else?

I grew up in NE Ohio, moved to PA, and then NY - so compared to those areas, winter in Kansas is a tropical paradise! Temps have been fluctuating from 40s to 60s the past few weeks.

3. Bonus Points: PIP's

1) Milestones: Chatty all the time. Adorable smiles and coos even at 4:30 am. Challenges: Sleep (or lack thereof) and getting used to the Bumbo.

2) Weather: about an inch of snow but lots and lots of ice! Also about 40 mph wind making blizzard like conditions in southern MN.

1. Milestones/Challenges?  We still need to transition to the crib.  I've tried having her nap in her crib a few times, but she'll only sleep around 30 minutes in it.  I should just suck it up and start trying at night though.

2. Random Question: Weather, what else? We didn't get much snow at all, just some freezing rain and lightning on Saturday night.

1. Milestones/Challenges? We got our first REAL laugh this week.  It was awesome!  I was tickling him on the changing pad and he let it out.  LOVE!

2. We didn't get any snow....boo!  I would love a good snowfall!

Milestones:

H rolled over for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday.  Now he's obsessed with making these high-pitched shrieking noises.  Today, I was pulling out my boob to feed him and he totally screamed.  It was hilarious.

 Challenges:

He's been sleeping badly at night.  Some of it from growth spurt, but some not.  He started sucking his thumb to stay asleep which is great, but the slurping on the monitor still wakes me up.  Womp wommmmmp...

 We got several inches of snow in eastern WI, and then freezing rain.  Ugh!

@Charlie: Hi there!  Technically I think Michigan is being included in another check-in (though I'm not sure which one).  But personally, I think the more the merrier, so if you want to stick around here, that's fine by me  Cute baby!  My DS grew out of his PnP like a week ago - he's huge

@Brooke: lol, screw the grandparents!  You'll never get that exciting first year, just full of changes, back - I say spend as much of it, with just you three, as possible.  Eventually you'll get in a groove with the grandparents' visits ~ and aw, green looks good on him!

@kbl13: I didn't know Kansas could be warm this time of year, lucky gal!  Sorry about the sleep issues, growth spurt??  And look at those big eyes of your LO, cute!

@Megan: Sleep issues, too?  Sorry!  How's your LO liking the bumbo?  My DS loves to sit up, but gets frustrated pretty quickly - but then doesn't want to be on his back, sits us, gets frustrated again, and the cycle repeats :P

@Lolly: cute pic!  And gees, us MN Moms need to meet already - like at the Mall of America or something ~ just saying

@Nessie: I was really lucky in that DS transitioned to the crib like a champ, but I know this isn't the norm (my brothers for example slept everywhere but the crib).  Keep trying, sure, but it's okay if it takes a bit ~ and oh gosh, what a pretty smile your LO has! 

@angie: congrats on the laugh! (is there anything better??).  My LO is laughing, too, but interestingly enough, we'll try to repeat the conditions (making the same face, or tickling him, etc.), and he won't do it a second time.  It's like he gets bored with repeats lol

@Gargita: lol, I like the shrieking boob story ;D  And oh gosh, you got a roller?  My DS hasn't even landed on his side or nothing . . . but he loves to sit up and can do it on his own for a few minutes, so I'll take what I can get!  And look at those cute cheeks!  Adorable!
