My IL came over yesterday when they were both sick after I told them we have it under control and now today I am sick. I know it wasn't them but there is no way their germs worked that fast but it's just the point. Right?
An old friend of mine from high school contacted me on facebook last night to say congrats about my pregnancy. Then she went on to complain about her 'infertility' issues because she's trying for her 6th baby and didn't get pg on the first month. I'm was like, woman, it took me 10 years to get pregnant. Quit your bitching and go see the dr if you are so worried about it. Good lord, we're only 32, it isn't like she's 50 and TTC.
I changed clothes and went to walk to at the track across the street. Every. Single. Guy I work with had to comment about it. You all have known me almost a year, you ALL know that I was very active and a runner before breaking my foot. Yes, my OB said I could start light exercise, yes my foot is finally healed, I'm going to go walk. heaven forbid you people do anything active.
I think I'm the only person not requiring our family to do anything special before LO gets here. DH's family would never go along with it and I don't want to keep them from seeing LO. My family gets vaccinated anyway because of their jobs and none of them will be here more than a couple weeks after the baby is born so I don't see the point.
I'm not, either. I gave my mom some onesies and a few toys to keep at her house since she will be watching him for me but other than that I just assume she's good to go.
I feel better knowing I'm not alone. I just know that DH's grandparents would never, ever, agree to getting the vaccines or anything and they've smoked for 50+ years. Yes they won't smoke while holding the baby but that's a habit they've had anyway. It would break DH's heart to keep LO from his favorite people in the world so I just don't feel it is worth the fight.
I feel the same way. DH's family is a little crazy but they won't hurt anybody and it will be good for Joshua to see some of the crazy early on We're lucky not to have any smokers on either side. DH and I both agreed that his grandfather wouldn't be allowed to be alone with the baby bc he suffers from dementia and thinks a lot of things are threats (and tries to neutralize them) but that really won't be an issue since we see him once a year.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
