DD is about to outgrow the newborn Halo Sleepsacks swaddler and BRU doesn't carry them in a small in cotton. They have fleece which is not what I want. I have some old Kiddopotamus swadders but they might not be very effective in keeping her arms in. She will flail them like a windmill when not swaddled tightly. It also helps her fall asleep and stay asleep for like at least five hours at night. I can't remember when we stopped swaddling DS but it was when he was too big for the Halos. I might consider ordering them on Amazon in the small size they have but I still have a bunch of Kiddopotamus swaddlers that I can still try.
Just wondering when most LOs stop being swaddled.

Re: When did you stop swaddling?
Oh, and we have a large SwaddleMe I just started using for naps. I'm trying to train her to take naps laying down, rather than in my arms.
She hasn't started rolling yet, but am considering pulling the swaddle when she starts. I hope it doesn't ruin her sleep.
But for real, I want to say he was swaddled until he was about one. (So way too long.)
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
My kid is going to need to be swaddled for the next 10 years I think.
He is 4 months and still sleeps swaddled. I did the SwaddleMe's until he outgrew the size I had, then I did Halo but he kept breaking out of those. Now I use the escape proof swaddle, however he still escapes. But he can't sleep without it, so I just re-wrap him when I feed him in the night.
I tried a few naps without swaddling and it was an epic fail.
ETA: never mind. I see BRU has the Miracle Blanket. I'm sold on the reviews already and will make a run this week.

Congrats to Heatherhah! Baby girl has finally arrived!

We swaddled until he started rolling. I tried to break him of it earlier, but when he started teething, the swaddle came back out. I think we weaned him from it around 5-6 months. I always used the Aden & Anais blankets. They are the longest and widest I could find and are easy to get tight. Plus, they're lightweight and breathable, which was important to me, especially considering our fickle weather.
ETA: As a warning about the miracle blanket - I didn't use it, but several friends did. They cursed it when it was time to wean their children from it. It's a great swaddling system, but the kids get dependent on it.
Buy Buy Baby carries the SwaddleMe blankets. They also carry A&A.
I've actually never seen the MB in either BBB or BRU, although both places plus Target carry the SM. A friend sent us our MB from Amazon, but I'm sure it's available on other websites and maybe stores!
I just realized the Swaddle Me's are by Kiddopotamus and I do have a bunch of these already in two different sizes. They didn't work well with DS because he could wiggle out of them and even he could get his arms up and out of the Halos. He really hated the swaddle from the start! DD is the opposite so the SwaddleMe's that I have might work...at least I can save my money for now and if they don't work for her, Miracle it is.

We swaddled with this method using A&A blankets and a receiving blanket:
We swaddled until she was about 5/6m old. She knew how to roll over both ways by 4m, but she never tried in her crib. That was the age she finally started breaking out all the time. But she was also a peanut

Somewhere between 5-6 months. When she learned to roll back to belly, we stopped immediately.
Buy them on Amazon, they sell larger sizes there. I was in tears when we had to ditch the swaddle. She was busting out of the large Halo sack with swaddler by that point though.

DD is a belly sleeper so we stopped swaddling around 4-5 months old.
Also, if your going to use the A&A blankets, go to Amazon to buy them and make sure you buy the larger size ones so you can use it longer. The ones at BRU are the smaller size.
