Newbie and have a ?

Hey ladies,

 I am new here and have been lurking around for a month or more :). My husband and I were married Nov.10th 2012 and we are TTC. We have been together for 5+ years (high school sweethearts!) and I have a beautiful 5 year old daughter from a previous relationship.

We decided to start TTC in January so I stopped taking my bc dec. 31st. That ended up being the last pill. I started charting on fertility friend to track my periods and ovulation day.  I have been on bc for about 4 years now.

My question is I  started my period on Jan.30th and as of today it is still going. It has been very light (more than a spotting) then a little heavier. There has also been a little brown (old blood) I'm guessing in the mix as well.

Is this normal after stopping bc and has this happened to yall before? If it keeps going on this week I'm calling my ob/gyn.

    It can take a little while for stuff to regulate after stopping BCPs, particularly after being on it so long, so that can be totally normal.

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    It took me about 3 months for my cycles to regulate...but everyone is different!

    It took me over a year to have a regular cycle, and it's still sporadic. My first "cycle" off of BC sounded very similar though, so I think it's normal.

    I'm leaning towards this being normal. All bodies regulate differently after coming off of BC, especially when you have been on it for so long. Keep good records so you can show them to your doc if you are still concerned in a few months.

    Thank y'all for the help! Hopefully AF goes away soon. I guess if she keeps up i'll call my doctor. We shall see!!

    Yes, I have taken 3 in January just to ease my mind. I had a pretty strong feeling that it would be negative and which it was so i was not disappointed. 

    AF started about a week late but a few days before she came was more of brown where i just needed a liner. So, it will be 2 weeks of light/brown bleeding this thursday and if it keeps up next week i'm more than likely will call.
