Haha! Yikes, don't get me started again. A lot of the posters were all over it. So, they have a great nanny but dont want to pay her what she asks? Run nanny, run far away!!!!!
I seriously don't understand why people complain about the cost of a nanny. Especially an educated experienced one. I had a nanny job in college in 1994 and they paid me 14.00 an hour and I had little experience and my only education was my child development classes!
The one lady that talked about getting cheaper pay because she had down time cracks me up. I never had down time like that when I was a nanny. If you have that much down time then I think you are probably babysitting and not nannying.. nannining? ugh whatever the right word is.
I think some people just like the idea of a nanny when they really can't afford one and so then it makes them... defensive about the cost...
Maybe?
I've never looked into nanny prices because I know I couldn't afford one. But I would never go trying to wittle their salary down to fit my lifestyle..and budget.

I think you are probably right. People like the idea, but it seems they do not think about the true cost of a nanny. Or take into consideration all of the things a nanny does/can do with your child(ren).
The couple I worked for spent the extra for a nanny because they wanted all home cooked meals for their children. Nothing processed. I got so sick of steaming sweet potatoes to feed to the baby, but I have to admit I will probably do that for my LO now.
Re: iggywan...?
Well anyway, I saw this and thought of you.

That's probably not clicky because I'm mobile. I'm come back later and fix it.
