iggywan...?

I may be totally mixing up my names here, but did you say you used to nanny?

I'm mobile or I'd go back and find the thread instead of risk looking like a butt if it wasn't you.

That's probably not clicky because I'm mobile. I'm come back later and fix it.

  • Haha! Yikes, don't get me started again. A lot of the posters were all over it. So, they have a great nanny but dont want to pay her what she asks? Run nanny, run far away!!!!!

  • I seriously don't understand why people complain about the cost of a nanny. Especially an educated experienced one. I had a nanny job in college in 1994 and they paid me 14.00 an hour and I had little experience and my only education was my child development classes!

The one lady that talked about getting cheaper pay because she had down time cracks me up. I never had down time like that when I was a nanny. If you have that much down time then I think you are probably babysitting and not nannying.. nannining? ugh whatever the right word is.

  • I think some people just like the idea of a nanny when they really can't afford one and so then it makes them... defensive about the cost...
    Maybe?

I've never looked into nanny prices because I know I couldn't afford one. But I would never go trying to wittle their salary down to fit my lifestyle..and budget.

I think you are probably right. People like the idea, but it seems they do not think about the true cost of a nanny. Or take into consideration all of the things a nanny does/can do with your child(ren).

The couple I worked for spent the extra for a nanny because they wanted all home cooked meals for their children. Nothing processed. I got so sick of steaming sweet potatoes to feed to the baby, but I have to admit I will probably do that for my LO now.
