Whining????

So DS has discovered how to whine... And, now he does it constantly!!! Anyone else going through this?? It's driving me mad!!! It doesn't seem to matter what we do, he just whines... Not crying.. Just a low pich, monotone whine!! Bahhhh! Lol DH and I are going crazy!! I've actually considered giving him back the pacifier even though he's been without it for several weeks!!

DD started this around the age of your DS.  It drives me batty too.  I have always said I can handle crying, but whining festers in my eardrum and makes me feel crazy LOL.  

She still does it, but not as much.

DH explained it well, for the first 6 months, she was only able to show us the polar emotions, either happy and smiling or wailing.  Now, she is discovering some of the emotions in between.

This is exactly how we were thinking of it.. because, it's not like he's miserable and thus whining.. sometimes he's whining when he's playing and having fun!  And, even now, he's whining as he's drinking his bottle!! LOL.  

Crying doesn't really bother me, and laughing, obviously, is wonderful.. but, like you said, the whining drives me batty!!! LOL.  DS took a really good nap this morning, so midway through I sat next to DH and started "mock" whining.  I joked and told DH we had to keep ourselves used to it, because otherwise when DS woke up and started whining again we'd go insane all over again!! LOL!

I'm just keeping the radio on to help drown it out!! I am not a fan of putting the TV on in the background (I joke and tell DH it's the devil box -- DS LOVES watching the TV!! But, I'm not keen on starting bad habits this young!!).. anyway, so radio it is!!

Raylan has already started this... I try to tell myself it's better than full on crying...but at the end of some days I'm like "OMG I can't stand the whining anymore!"  He doesn't do it constantly though....it's most frequent when he's tired but not napping (thank you 4 month wakeful.)
