Multiples

Triplets??

I am 12 weeks, but is anyone naturally pregnant (no IVF)  with triplets or with triplets at all?  It's crazy that my husband's in the military and now we're pregnant with triplets. If anyone is or has been pregnant with triplets could you please comment so I can see your posts and find moms like me? Thanks

Re: Triplets??

  • Congratulations!

I am also pregnant with triplets! No fertility treatments or anything, all natural!

I'm only 8 weeks along and we've only known for a week so we are Still processing!

I go see my MFM Tuesday and get a better U/S then...

Glad to have someone to talk to!

  • I have triplets but we did do fertility treatment it was a huge surprise for us also. Did they say if yours were identical or fraternal?  Congrats on your trio

  • 2 are identical and one would be fraternal from those two
  • Congrats! I have quads but we did fertility treatments. All of mine are fraternal. It takes time to get over the shock of having multiples!

  • I'm expecting triplets in the next 2 weeks, although mine are a result of IVF (2 ID/ 1 frat).

If you would like to be part of a facebook group of moms expecting triplets in 2013, send me a pm with your facebook info and I'll add you.  It's a great group of ladies and we have women in all stages of pregnancy right now, so you definitely wouldn't be alone.

Only because I'm interested in knowing...how did you find out it was trips so early?  What prompted an early US, or does your OB do a dating US routinely?  I'm just asking because in non-complicated pregnancies, my OB only does a 20 week US and I am terrified of finding out multiples that late in the game.

I knew I wasn't 6 months, but I look like I could be. I called and said I looked like I was five to six months pregnant, but that I hadn't missed enough periods. They got me an US appointment. At the appointment they discovered I was pregnant with triplets. Now I go every 2 weeks because of my high risk.

My OB does an 8 week check up (first appt) and normally does an U/S to check for heartbeat and to confirm dating. I thought I was 8w 4d, but was really only 7w because my cycle was around 35 days, not 28.  This is my first (2nd and 3rd...) but I think OB does U/S this early for all patients, she made is seem like it was routine.
