How long did it take you to see results? My pedi suggested this today because LO has been super gassy and miserable and had a few mucus like stools. I am a huge dairly eater and this is a giant change for me and I am praying it helps her feel better. I am assuming it takes a while to "kick in" and wanted to hear experiences.
Also, what do you guys eat? Man, I lived off yogurt and apples/string cheese, cereal with milk, etc. Not having dairy feels bizarre.
Re: For those that quit eating dairy...
From a food allergy "enthusiast" aka one who is allergic to pretty much everything..... I find that each time I eliminate something from my diet it takes 3-4 weeks to get out of my system. I would also recommend determining the level of the allergy. Some people who are lactose intolerant just can't have straight milk an yogurt (such as myself) but cheese and butter are fine. For me lactose free milk has been a pretty good substitute.
To help your LO during the "detox period" sometimes a gentle belly massage helps me. It is pretty much a belly rub but it helps keep things going moving and relives some of the gas pain.
Good luck!
