Stroller/Travel System?

No sense in saving all the fun questions for second tri.  Do you have a stroller or travel system picked out and if so who makes it and what model?

I am mildy obsessed with the Peg Perego Uno in Green. It will most certainly be a splurge, but I am in love :)

Re: Stroller/Travel System?

  • We have the Chicco Cortina with the KeyFit and we loved it. The stroller was great, the infant seat was great, and we had no complaints.

  • we were thinking travel system but i'm afraid that might be quite a bit for me to lug around. ? i'm kind of leaning towards the bumbleride flyer, indie or queen b (haven't narrowed it down but there's definitely time for that). ?and as for the car seat i like the maxi cosi mico infant car seat or the combi shuttle.?
  • We didn't go with a travel system because we heard so many complaints about how bulky and heavy the stollers are, so we got the Graco Snugride carseat and Metrolite stoller in Sterling. They match, but the stroller is much lighter and has good reviews.
  • Peg Prego is a really good brand, and I am quite partial to the SUV-style of stroller - the bulky ones.

Not a big fan of bugaboo or MacLaren, DH used to work for MacLaren, and he said they would break all the fricken time.

  • we have the graco travel system with the safeseat.  We really liked it and we still use the stroller...mostly for walks.  We have a cheapy umbrella stroller for quick trips.  But now we'll have to start looking into double strollers...
  • just a lurker here coem out to make a comment. When lookign at infant carseats make sure the straps are adjustable from the front, trust me this will make is SO much safer & easier to use. I would also caution against the ones that have a 2 piece plastic clip that must be held together in order to buckle it in bw the babies legs, this is VERY annoying & difficult to do!  ( I have seen SOME eddies bauer ones & peg perego ones that do this)

I am a nurse in the family birthing centre & deal wiht a lot of different carseats & parents who have no idea how to use them! Also play with it & read the instructions before you are in labour!

  • Mrs. Teddy thanks for coming out to play and the insights!
  • I have the Peg Pereggo Pliko P3 Pramette and I love it.  Although when MS was in the infant seat, I mostly used the Snap 'N Go.  But now I use the travel system all the time.  we have 2 umbrella strollers, but I hate them.

I'll be looking into the a double stroller soon.
