New to The Bump

Confusion, and disappointing.

Hey guys I'm new here and I've been looking online a lot about pregnancy symptoms and if I could be pregnant.

I haven't found many answers, so I'll just explain everything?

I track my periods to make sure they're regular because I've had problems in the past with them being irregular. They've been regular for about 6 months until January. I had unprotected sex on the 4th of Jan, on the 6th, 7th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 23rd, 25th, and 26th I had spotting. On the tracker, my ovulation should have been around the 11th, and my period should have been around the 21st-24th. I don't know if I should count the spotting on the 25th and 26th as my period.

I've taken several pregnancy tests, once on 24th, 30th, and Feb 1st, all in the evening, and one in the morning on the 2nd, but I forgot with the first pee and went with the second. All were negative.

Throughout this time from around the 8th I've been feeling very tired, have frequent headaches, frequent urination, back cramps, I've experienced some bad cramps until about the 24th, I've been more emotional than usual, and (not sure if relevant) I've been waking up around 3-4 AM or 6-7 AM, mostly to have to pee, but usually waking me from a nightmare.

For about two weeks the only things that I have been feeling is tired, having to pee a lot still, and still waking up at night.

I'm not sure what exactly I'm asking for here, maybe a little hope that even though I've had a neg pregnancy result that there is still a possibility, or if I'm just looking for answers as to why I would be spotting so much. I think I'm just worried and a little disappointed.

I'm 25 years old, with no health insurance so I can't make an appointment with my doctor to talk about these things.

Thanks

Re: Confusion, and disappointing.

  • Hi! Well it certainly sounds like pregnancy symptoms. The bleeding may have actually been implantation bleeding rather than your period, especially if it was only spotting. I would suggest taking another pregnancy test very first thing in the morning, try your hardest to remember because it could make the difference between a positive and a false negative.

I think the first thing you should try to get in line is some health insurance for yourself, because if you are pregnant, you'll need to go to the doctors, and the costs of birth and pregnancy are going to really add up quickly. I was also thinking that I may be pregnant around mid-January, because I was having many of the symptoms, and had switched over BCP. Turns out AF came about 3 days later and so I didn't bother taking a test.

Any who, I would strongly suggest looking into insurance, regardless of whether or not the test comes back positive, if you are TTC or planning to continue having unprotected sex.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thanks a lot Rayschicky,

I thought it could have been stress too, because I had lost my job and was working on getting another one, but I have actually been pretty relaxed about getting back on my feet. It still could be stress, I think my body was telling me I want kids. My goal has been for in about 5 to 10 years, but I still get that overwhelming feeling that I want kids sometimes.

I definitely do need insurance, and I'm working on it now, recently obtained two jobs and saving up for what I can get. At least with income I can try the clinic.

I'm worried that with neg results, if I continue with pregnancy symptoms, I might have an ectopic pregnancy, and I would want to get that checked out as soon as I can.

I just hope it's not all paranoia.

    Thanks again :]

  • Thanks. I just picked up a test and I'll be using it tomorrow morning. I've triedfor medicaid when I lost my job, but they said that I don't qualify, so as soon as I can, I will get insurance.
    Thanks again guys.
  • No problem! Keep your chin up and let us know how it goes!

  • Alright, test this morning was negative, so I think it's time I take the neg as the answer. I am disappointed, but I'm sure it'll happen when it's supposed to.

Going to def make myself a list of things to get checked out when I finally have insurance.

Thanks again for the help guys.

  • No problem :) Although a negative is disappointing, at least now you are not left wondering and can get everything together for when the time is right!

    Good luck with everything :)
