cervix check...(kinda tmi)

I am 38 weeks, and FTM. The doctor checked my cervix for the first time yesterday. I assumed that there would be some leakage of fluid after but not 24+ hours later! I am still having some bloodish brownish discharge and odor ewww every time I go to the bathroom! Also every time that the baby bumps into my cervix I have the discharge as well. Is that normal or should I be worried?! The doctor said I was 2 cm and 70%. (if that adds to why i am having the discharge.)

Its normal. If you are concerned, call the office and explain to them but my doctor advised me that there may be discharge (even bloody) but as long as it was not heavy like a period, it was nothing to worry about.

Is sounds like it could possibly be your bloody show. Did your doctor mention stripping your membranes?

Either way, it is normal. Sounds like the end is near for you!

Sounds to me like the beginning of your bloody show, since it's still going on 24+ hours later.   You could be close!

I just asked pretty much this exact question on the march 2013 board.  My exam was Wednesday and it's been nearly 48 hours and mine is still going on.

At 27 weeks I went into PTL and had my cervix checked. I had what sounds like the same thing, brownish blood and that period like smell for 2 days. Also a bit of craming. I think what you described is normal.
