Definitely thought I missed ovulation and was out for the month, but temp spiked and timing apparently was right!  Just a wacky 40 something day cycle.

I would imagine having a longer cycle makes it harder to track/concieve? Congrats! I had no idea that an egg really only has 24 hours to be fertilized, crazy how precise timing needs to be!

My LMP was July 29th and I conceived on August 12th.

I was temping and using OPK's... I got the first positive OPK about three days before ovulation and confirmed ovulation as the 18th of August...

Highly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility if you want to learn and understand more. I wish it had been mandatory reading in high school.

I had my period the 15th, and ovulated the 31st. I can feel when I ovulate; and took a ovulation test the night before, and it said I would ovulated within the next 12-24 hours.
