Does one give you more discomfort than the other?

i'm 20weeks with twins ?- ?I've noticed that baby A sits low towards the left side...and this areas seems to be where I get most of my discomfort from. ?Anyone else have one baby give them more pain than the other? ?Just want to make sure its how they are sitting vs. something being wrong in that area. ? Going on Monday for my A/S - so I'll ask the dr...just looking for insight to get me through until then!

Re: Does one give you more discomfort than the other?

  • You probably have one sitting near a nerve or just positioned badly. And really, it can happen the same with singletons - if your legs are even the tiniest bit uneven (which ALL are) you can have bad pain on one side or the other. This past pregnancy was my fourth and with each one I've had spots of pain that just don't really make sense, but come back with each pregnancy. I can almost guarantee it's "just one of those things," but mention it anyway to be on the safe side!

  • I'm at 22wks and Baby B is KILLING my ribs!! Baby A only bothers my hip every now and then, but not much.  I can't wait for my next u/s next week!!

  • Baby B was always kicking my ribs. Baby A I hardly knew she was there.

  • Baby A was constantly kicking me and squirming around. He was really low and breech, which made it even more uncomfortable. B would stretch move a little, and it didn't bother me as much.

The funny thing is, that is still their personalities! Baby A is much more high energy and quick to get upset.

  • I joke that my two are already fighting in utero. "I'm not touching you!" "Mom, he's in my space!" Baby B is laying diagonally across my left side, breech w/ his feet up. I don't feel him a great deal but the ultrasounds have shown he does move around appropriately.  Baby A, on the other hand, I feel all the time and often uncomfortably. She's also breech but her legs are down in my pelvis. To begin with, I have always felt more movement from her. Baby B is apparently sitting on her and occasionally will stretch his hands toward her or lean his head on her. So she has less space and probably is reacting to her brother encroaching. When I feel B move to the right, I get a huge flurry of movement from baby A, including some very painful head butting into my rib cage or side, as well as kicking in my hips.

  • My baby a was breech and super low on my right side, and baby b was breech transverse across the top of my uterus. They made a right angle, and the spot below my ribs where their heads met was horribly painful when they had their daily head butting match. It is likely that your pain is just from mal positioning, but def mention it to your doctor!

  • Yes, but it varies day to day.  Usually Baby B stretches out my right side and it's getting uncomfortable.  Today it's Baby A, who is pushing my belly forward as much as possible.  Plus she has both her feet on my cervix and is kicking the crap out of me.

  • For the first half of my pregnancy, Z (twin A) was in my pelvis and used it for leverage when she would move. Then, later on, R (twin B) was wedged into my rib cage and would even stretch out into my side.
