Officially out and on a break

Well, today I got AF before I could even get the result of my beta. I have cried off and on for the past three days and will probably do so some more through this weekend.

Since this cycle didn't work, I will be going to India for work. I have to get shots that you can't get while TTC or pregnant, so I will get them in the next few weeks.

I leave for my trip 2 days after DS's 3rd birthday and while I am gone it will be during the EDD for the baby we lost in August. I am just devestated, but I hope that the culture shock and hectic schedule will keep me from thinking about it too much. Right now I can barely see the keyboard for the tears, and I am a terrible typer.

DH and I have decided that we will give it one more try in April or May, so if we are blessed at that time I will be 39 when I deliver and DS will turn 4 a month or two after the baby arrives. Wow, this is nothing like I planned, but since I haven't learned my lesson, God keeps showing me that he has a plan that might not be the same as mine. Sadly at this point in time I can't stand the thought of being a family of 3. But I hope it is just the hormones.

I'll check back over the next few days to see how the other betas went, then I'll be taking a break from TTC and probably the board for a few months.

     I know how you feel- we're officially taking a break, too and it sucks. Have a safe trip and thinking of you. Give your DS lots of snuggles and kisses!!

    I'm so sorry this cycle didn't work.  

     I can relate to how you feel as we are at the end of our journey too.  I'm almost 39.

     I think India sounds like a cool adventure and I hope it will keep your mind occupied.  

     We plan to try again in April/May too.

    Im so sorry!  India sounds like a great adventure though and I hope it will take your mind off things.  Good luck and best of wishes to you.

    I am so sorry to hear all of that.  I hope your trip to India is a wonderful distraction for you.  I hope this spring brings you the news you have been hoping for.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    I'm so sorry.

    I've shed many, many tears this week too. Probably more this cycle than any of the previous ones. It hurts so much.

    Oh man I am so so sorry!!  I wish there was something I could do or say. I hope all the trips and things going on will make the time fly by.

    I am so sorry.  We will miss seeing you over here.  Enjoy your time in India, I am totally jealous.  One of my BF's is from India and I have always wanted to go.  I wish you the best of luck

    I am so sorry!!  I hope that your trip and being on a break will help you to prepare for trying again in April or May!  I am in a similar spot right now too -- our last IUI did not work and we probably only have one or two more cycles left.  If they work, then I will be over 41 when we deliver and my son will be almost 3 1/2.  It is not how we planned it either = (  I am praying that your time will be here in April or May!!

    Thanks, ladies! As always you are so supportive and kind. I knew of all people you all would understand. I hope when I come back I see that there have been a ton of BFPs while on my break.
