Need to go for another mammo

I got a call from my dr stating I had to go back & get a few more views & an u/s on my left breast. They saw a density in it & want to get more views. I was really calm on the phone, but as soon as I hung up the phone my mind started spinning.

i called the Imaging place & took an appt for next Wed since it was the latest they had (2:30pm).  they said the dr has to be present & they only do them between 12 & 3).  I called them back about 30 mins later & told her it will make me stir crazy, what else did they have.  They only had Tues at 12:30, so ended up keeping my Wed appt since I won't miss too much work. I told her to keep me in mind for cancellations.  We have a large possible snow storm rolling through tomorrow, so maybe I will get lucky with someone afraid of driving in it...

i lost an aunt to inflammatory breast cancer, granted it is not a hereditary type of cancer, but it is freaking me out a bit. I really hope it is nothing, but I am scared. I want to ask my mom if she ever had this happen, but I don't want her to worry since it was my father's sister we lost & she will tell my father & I know he will be extremely worried. It is going to be very hard to keep it from her, but it may be for the best to hold off until we know if it is anything or not.

i just needed to vent & my bump ladies are so understanding.

I have similiar phone calls, was a benign mass, easily removed, I hope yours turns out to be a shadow. I can appreciate the crazees you are feeling. Good luck

I am not sure if this was your 1st one but when I had my 1st one a few months ago I was told that it was VERY common to get a call to come in again because the techs might see something and have nothing to compare it too.  I was glad to hear that because I would have completely freaked after getting a call like that.  Try to stay calm til you can get in.  It's probably just a precaution.  Hugs.

I also had to go for a retake because they saw one was more dense than the other. I started freaking out since breast cancer runs in the family and my mom had ovarian cancer. Everything was ok and like Llama said,it is very common for them to call you back. Nonetheless it still is scary. Hoping they just need a different view and you are ok! Hugs.

I had a call back once, it was fine. Don't worry, they are very cautious with mammogram result, and ignore nothing.

It was my third mammo, so they did have comparisons . I hope it is nothing too. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it is helping me calm down.
