I know this has been asked before, but we all know the search function sucks, etc., so sorry if this is repetitive. Anyway, I will hopefully be doing a FB announcement around 13 weeks if my NT scan looks good next week (or later if we decide further testing is needed).
I plan on "coming out" on the IF piece as well (trying 2 1/2 years, IVF, etc.). Can some of you who have announced on FB or who have a plan give me the wording you used so I have some examples? TIA!!

Re: FB announcement wording suggestions
It's a boy! After several years and many tears we are thrilled to be expecting a baby in spring 2013. We could not have made this journey without prayer, family, friends, and Dr Wit at Huston Frtility Intitute. We know we are truly blessed. Prayers to all those who are still waiting and hoping.
ETA: Didn't mean to put my clinics full info on here due to the sometimes working search function.
After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
No heartbeat at 10w6d
FET August 27,2012 = BFP!
It's a boy!
My Blog - 3 Dogs, No Baby
I didn't feel comfortable discussing my pregnancy on FB at all after going through IVF the first time (no real reason, just irrational fear I suppose), but I am strongly considering it for this one.
If I do, I'll put DD in a "Big Sis" t-shirt, and say something about her getting excited for her new job.
As far as a FTM announcement, it totally depends if you want to be light or serious with it, whether you want to do something creative or straight forward. Give us some parameters you're comfortable with and I'm sure you will get some great suggestions.
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
I want to keep it light as that is DH and my personality type and we're so happy to finally be where we are, but straight forward as well. I'm hoping to use it with a good picture from the NT scan, or maybe us holding up the picture. I'm just trying to figure out how to convey our happiness, the IF, etc. all in a few succinct lines. My career as an attorney has made be bad at being succinct and simple. :-) TIA!
BFP on Cycle #8. Natural M/C at ~8 weeks
IUI #1 and #2 (8/12, 9/12)- 50 mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFNs
IVF #1 (EPP) 13R/10M/9F, 5DT 1-4AA blast, beta #1-148, beta #2-322, 5 frosties!
In the description I wrote this. "After 3 long years I can finally say the 2 words I have been dreaming to say. "I'm pregnant!". It has been a long trying road. Thanks to the love and support of great friends and family, a wonderful medical team, too many needles and injections to count and 3 rounds of IVF, Brett and I are pleased to announce we are expecting TWINS! Due April 25th but we just hope they stay put until March 28th!"
How about something like...
"We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child around Labor Day! This pregnancy was hard won - a special thanks goes out to modern medicine for helping to make this happen.:)"
This acknowledges the IF struggle in a 'light' way so the IF aspect isn't left out, but it's not the highlight either. People can understand it wasn't easy but not get bogged down in that and instead focus on your baby!
Obviously there are a million plays on the wording, but this was just a gist of an idea.
p.s. I'm 3 days behind you. We are a same sex couple and joked about doing one on FB that says "I'm pregnant! It was totaly unplanned and we're not sure how it happened..."
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

Hi!! Just wanted to tell you that this is the most adorable thing I've ever read!!
We had our a/s at 20 weeks so while I didn't share the gender, I felt reasonably sure that the baby was healthy. I still felt weird about it because I know that yucky feeling when "yet another" pg announcement went up. This is what I posted:
After three years of wishing and hoping, we can happily share the news that we are expecting a baby in March! Today marks the halfway point, and we had a healthy baby scan this morning. Keeping our fingers crossed that everything continues to go well.
To those of you out there doing your own silent wishing and hoping, I hope you get your own good news soon too.
