Let's say our new baby's great grandparents gave her a $150 silver spoon (Is it ungrateful to sideeye this??). Normally, my thank you's go somewhat like, "Thank you for x, it is so (adjective). It's very helpful/will come in handy/will really get a lot of use/DD loves it/etc..."
I don't know what to write about a fancy spoon. "Thank you, it's very beautiful." But then what??
Also, WTAF do I do with a silver spoon?
Re: Thank you card wording
it's a silver spoon worth $150 (how do you know this) or what's a $150 silver spoon?
I'd say, "Thank you so much for the beautiful silver spoon for babyname. Can't wait for herhim to starting using it LOL..." or something silly.
What are you going to do with it? Maybe frame it? Put it in a shadow box or something? Maybe you could say, "It'll look beautiful on display..." or sumshit.
Dear XXX,
Thank you so much for the beatiful silver spoon for XXX. It was so thoughtful of you to think of her. I am sure it is a gift she will treasure for a long time. Hope to see you soon!
Love,
XXX
Odd. Is "XXX" a family name? JK! LOL, this. Totally this is worded well.
HAha, oops.
It's from a store called Reed and Barton. I looked it up out of curiosity. Thought it was like 40 bucks or something. And then I saw it and my eyes popped out all cartoonlike.
Thanks, that sounds pretty good.
Yeah, something like this. FWIW, MIL gave DS a silver spoon when he was a baby, and it was intended to be used for feeding, not just for display.
