When should I test?

I had my 6 week appointment yesterday and the doctor gave me the mini pill. But the thing is we had sex twice since I gave birth. Once 2 weeks ago and then again last week. I was thinking I should take a preg test just to make sure before I start the pills. So how long should I wait before testing?

2 weeks after the last time you had sex... and don't have sex in the meantime

Although, I just read your OP again, and there's really no need.  If you are pg, the mini pill won't hurt the pg.  I would only bother testing if you didn't get AF on your first week of placebos.

You might want to check with your doctor on how long the pregnancy hormones usually stick around in your system after giving birth.  I know after I had a m/c, I still tested positive on pg tests for a few weeks as the hormones gradually decreased, and I had only been pg for 7 weeks, so the hormone levels weren't anything like they would have been at full term.  Just a suggestion, as I wouldn't want you to test positive and freak out for no reason!

Oh I thought bc could hurt if I was preg. But the mini pill doesn't have placebos.

It's my understanding that with the mini-pill, there are no 'placebos' as there are with traditional BCP though...I would probably call your dr. and see what they think.

i guess that makes sense why the last week of pills is the same color...they aren't FAKE!  Now I'm kinda paranoid...b/c I somehow forgot my 2nd to last pill in the pack (from my first month back on BC)...I didn't freak out too much, b/c I figured it was just the palcebo/sugar pills....yikes!!
