Boys are hard to name!

Boy names are harder for me to decide on. DH's name is Nicholas William Gilbert G ll. He hates it, has always hated it, and doesn't want to continue the short lived tradition in his family. He wants something different. And to clarify: Not something necessarily unique, untrendy, or bizarre.

So far we've gathered:
Grayson Dante: Honestly have no idea how Grayson should be spelt. I'm sure there's an original way, but its one of those names I can never find one way of spelling it I like best. At first we both really liked the name. Dante, however, has started to make me weary. DH still likes it though.

Emmett Riley:It was suggested to us. We like it, we just don't love.

Emmett Carter: Same as last.

Emmett Dean: He likes this one more than I do. I just can't completely get on board.

Adian Hunter: This was his favorite Aidan name. We both agreed that this was the only was to spell Aidan that we were completely sold on as well.

Aidan Cooper: This is my favorite Aiden pairing.

Chase Alexander: We both really loved Chase and had this on our first draft of a list, but Alexander is a little too classic for DH's tastes, and it just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Riley Graham: My favorite Riley pairing.

Riley Brenton: We were both neutral about this one.

Keegan Sterling: He doesn't know how he feels about Keegan, but I really like this name.

Carter Brighton: I like this. Carter was one of his original favorite names.

Carter Hagen: I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this is my absolute favorite.

We realize some of these names are trendy, but we don't care: We live in an area where baby boys usually take on family names and the only names that are trendy are Mason and Jackson. Wondering if anyone has gotten a feel for what we're going for with these and has any suggestions? Perhaps tell us what your favorites are of the bunch. TIA!

Love the name Grayson, not a big fan of Dante.   For some reason these don't seem like the same style of name.  I like the nickname Grae.

The only name I like from your list is Emmett, coincidentally that's on our list too for boys.  I think it could work with a variety of middle names, Emmett Hunter or Emmett Alexander would be my pick.  

The least favorite name from your list is Keegan.

Grayson Dante: I like both Grayson and Dante but they sound kind of odd together. Greyson is the alternate spelling and more popular across the pond. Grayson is the typical spelling in the US. I like both.

Emmett Riley:It's okay. I like Riley but I'm not a big fan of Emmett.

Emmett Carter: Again, I like Carter but not Emmett.

Emmett Dean: Dean is nice. It doesn't sound right with Emmett to me.

Adian Hunter: I like Aidan even though it is very popular. I don't like Hunter.

Aidan Cooper: I like this one.

Chase Alexander: I like Alexander but not Chase. To me Chase is something children do on the playground.

Riley Graham: I like this one also.

Riley Brenton: Meh

Keegan Sterling: I really like Keegan but I don't think I would ever use it. I don't care for Sterling.

Carter Brighton: I like Carter but not Brighton. It's okay in the MN spot I guess.

Carter Hagen: Similar to the above. Although I think I prefer Brighton over Hagen.

Emmett Riley: Not a fan of either name 

Emmett Carter: I like Carter but not Emmett.

Emmett Dean: Not a fan of either name

Adian Hunter: Aiden is way too trendy/popular for me, I don't mind Hunter

Aidan Cooper: See above for Aidan, Cooper is nms.

Chase Alexander: I like Alexander but not Chase.

Riley Graham: I like Graham.

Riley Brenton: Dislike both

Keegan Sterling: I actually like Sterling in the mn spot, but Keegan is nms.

Carter Brighton: I like Carter but not Brighton. If it is a family name/has significance than I understand using it in the mn spot.

Carter Hagen: Hagen is nms, but if it is a family name or has significance, I think it is fine in the mn spot.

Maybe Carter Dean, Carter Emmett, Carter Graham? DS1 is Carter Robert (after DH) but I really wanted him to be Carter Joseph (after my dad.) But we used Joseph for DS2 (Reid Joseph .  What's your DH's name?

I like Grayson Dante. The others are NMS paired together. I like Cooper, Graham, Alexander and Sterling. Suggestions: Graham Sterling/Sterling Graham and Cooper Alexander!

I like Carter or Chase. Really dislike Aidan, no matter how it's spelled. The rest are nms. Good luck!

Carter Graham is definitely one of my favorites. DH's name is Nicholas William Gilbert! Trying to avoid those and instead paying homage to his family and mine by picking Irish and Celtic MNs. Hence Carter Hagen.
