Any NE Floridians expecting twins???

To make a long story short, I'm having an extremely difficult time finding an OB who will take twins.  Everyone just keeps saying "sorry, we don't take twins."  So, for any of you in NE FL, suggestions on Drs???

Re: Any NE Floridians expecting twins???

  • Can you look up a maternal fetal specialist? They would most likely send you to one anyway. Good luck!
  • Dr McGrath of Fernandina Beach/Yulee (Nassau County) delivered my oldest daughter and was truly awesome. I recall meeting at least 2 other ladies in the waiting room during my various prenatal checkups that were expecting twins. He stays booked and sometimes I had long waiting times during reg appointments, but is worth the wait, IMO. All of my IRL friends that still live there go to him or his partners as his practice has really grown.

    Good luck!

  • None of the MFM's here will see you without a referral from an OB.  But, I finally found one today at St. Vincents.  Sheesh!

  • Seriously?? Where are you? i'm in Jacksonville and had ZERO issues. I used MArtin Garcia who was awesome.

honestly I think the key is to find someone who delivers at Baptist Downtown - they are the PREMIER NICU in the area.

Also I strongly encourage you to look up/join the local MOM's group (Jackpotts.org). HUGE support group from all mom's of twins and trips!!!!!

  • I've never actually posted on here - I've always seen the phrase "lurker" haha...but this seemed to apply to me! I went through Faben (who my RE recommended), who worked hand in hand w/ ROCC upstairs - it was really nice to be able to go from one appointment right to the other without leaving the building! They're both located at Baptist Downtown which I was told by everyone, if you ever need it (knock on wood you don't) is where you want to be for the NICU! Luckily we didn't have to use it, and I was really happy w/ the care we got from Faben/ROCC/Downtown! Hope this helps, and good luck :)

  • Oh yes! FABEN is awesome! Dr. Fox is a MOM herself...so she's awesome.

  • Her Husband is one of the RE's at the office I went to....I don't think it was a coincidence I ended up over there! But they really were great...except it was always so freakin HOT in there...but that could've just been me haha
