I just read a post on here about solid foods and i am so surprised! Meats, cheeses, eggs.... I think its great! My Pedi's "thing" (They all have a thing) is no protein before 9 months. I keep forgetting to ask why! She is 7 1/2 months now and is done with purees(she still gets them but i can tell she is tired of them) she loves to pick up her food so she has had small chunks of everything I have pureed and we did noodles, but i am nervous about other things. My husband and I are foodies and I would love for her to experience spices and herbs and small portions of what we eat, Is it okay to give her somethings like homemade mac n cheese? all I can think its the wheat in bread crumbs, the cheese, the egg... She has only had pure foods so far but I think we are both bored haha We have no known allergies in our families. I think she would love things like hummus or beans!
Re: Scared of Real Food
My pedi said 8 months for meats, we started at 7. I gave her little bits of ground meat and she liked it. She loves beans - I added onions, garlic and oregano, but no salt.
She hasn't had any dairy or eggs yet. I will try egg yolk soon but will wait for the whites.
I have food allergies so I am somewhat cautious.
