Teething ?s

My lil man has started teething. I got teething tablets and Tylenol for him, they seem to help, but I wished it lasted a little longer. I have little tethers too, is there anything else I can do to help him out? Sometimes he gets so frustrated and upset .. Doesn't take much to get him mad right now!

He also sleeps quite a bit and doesn't eat much... He's refused his bottle and screamed like I was killing him over it every time I offer it to him. In twelve hrs I've got I'm to eat 9oz!  :-/ this normal for teething?

Re: Teething ?s

  • My little guy doesn't quite have the hang of holding a teething ring. I don't want to rely on the tablets or tylenol and I'm not a fan of using the orajel either.

I put his pacifiers in the freezer. He likes that a lot.

I have heard some babies don't like to eat while dealing with teething pain.

    ... that's all I got.

  • We're going through this too!

I love the ideas of putting the pacis in the freezer Rachael!

After talking to my pedi he suggested making a breast milk ice pop. I came across the idea on pinterest while I was pregnant and think I am going to give it a try.

  • Love the paci idea! I FF but maybe I could make the ice pop too. Thank you!

Im worried about his eating, he is still not wanting a bottle, not even apple juice. Ugh, this is stressful! I don't want him losing weight because he won't eat, or his tummy shrinking where he doesn't want to, or won't eat much......the worrys of a mother.... Prob silly but it's how my mind is working.. :-( I just want him to eat!

Thank you for the ideas, hoping they work!

  • I always put a wet washcloth in the freezer for teething.   BRU also sells a pacifier that is textured called the Razberry.  That helped quite a bit for DS1.  The BM paci pops look like a neat idea too!

  • We used Hyland's Teething Tablets with DS and they worked like a charm. They're homeopathic. Orajel was useless since he drooled it off in 2 seconds.

  • We did frozen wash cloths and I would squeeze the paci to fill it with water, stick it in the freezer and then let him chew on it.

  • I like those ideas. Thank you! I tried the pacis in the freezer/fridge and he likes them, yay! I like the idea of squeezing it to get water in them and freezing them, I never would have thought of that. Later ill prob give him a wash cloth to suck around on.

He is eating a little better now thankfully. Mostly I sleep feed him, even in his naps because he will eat then and not fight and scream, lol. Whatever works!!
