I posted this on my bmb too, but could use all the opinions I can get.
We found out we are having a girl, and I would like to name her Winter Haven even though she will be a summer baby. Big sisters name is Rainy Lane, and I like the names together.
So, What do ya'll think of the name?
Re: Name opinion from some honest parenting ladies:)
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
None. We had my DDs name picked out before she was even conceived, but we can not agree on any names for this baby except for Winter.
Dislike Winter. I'm not a fan of season names. They sound juvenile.
Haven is trendy and I'd never use it myself, but I wouldn't side-eye it as a middle name. Pair it with a classic first name like Caroline or Elizabeth.
Winter + Haven = ridiculous
It doesn't sound like a person's name...or at least one that doesn't work on a pole. Sorry.
I'm not a big fan of season names for this exact reason. Either it's like "We named her Summer. Cuz she was born in the Summer. YAY!" or else you have this issue.
With DD1 named Rainy I feel you probably want to stick to natural world inspired names. But I don't personally care for season names or naming your child after a month. Then again, I also don't care for the trend of naming boys with last names as first names (sorry, some of this board, probably), so what do I know?
I knew I've heard of a town called this before. I have a friend that lives out there. I feel smart.
Just as long as it's not Blue Ivy.
That's trademarked.
LOL
OP, both are okay though not together. I know a Winter, but it's boy.
They could name the next kid Cloudy or Snow and be set. It's like a theme.
I grew up in Tucson AZ and Winterhaven is the exact name of a really nice residential community there. The neighborhood does horse carriage rides and light/decoration displays every year for Christmas
So... I can only associate it with that ....NMS
Sometimes skinny kids turn out to be beefy, athletic teens/adults. If your DH is on the slim side it certainly does suggest they might not grow up to be linebackers. But I can remember a couple kids I grew up with who were little guys until puberty then BAM.
Also, Lightning wouldn't have to be big. Just fast.
Well if you were a big Indians fan in the 90s, go for it. Wasn't that their prior spring training facility location? It's NMS, but I think Winter as middle name would be better.
