Honest opinion on this name.

I haven't posted here in a while, and I should probably post this on the name board, but I would like to here from the June Mommies.

The name I have picked out for our little girl is Winter Haven. I have gotten a lot of "but she will be a summer baby". I don't really care about that, but every one else seems too. If it helps big sister's name is Rainy Lane. (which kind of makes me feel like a hippie with those names lol).

So, truth What do ya'll think about that name?

I love the name Winter.  I'm not super jazzed on Winter Haven (it sort of sounds like a ski resort...)  but if you love it, who cares.

Your kiddo will probably get the "but you're born in Summer" comment eleventy million times over the course of her life though.  So there's that to consider.

The name is nice but it is a name of a town in Florida. My parents have a house down there so we drive through winterhaven on our way to it from Orlando.

I picture a ski resort. The names alone are NMS but I think together it's a little odd. Maybe pick your fave?

I just said the name to my husband one day and fell in love with it.

I think if you and dh love the name, that is all that matters. I like the name winter but haven isn't my taste unless you meant heaven? Sorry.

I like the idea of the name winter, but I hate the NN winnie, and just don't find it super feminine. (I hated that my sisters had feminine names and I didn't, so it's always something I consider)

My name actually is Winter and I love it! So I fully support your name choice of course. I get many compliments and that always makes a person feel good. Some people like to tease and call me Summer. As far as worrying about the middle name making it sound like a ski resort, meh, how often do you get called by your first and middle name? I like it.

ETA. I never had a nick name growing up. I just went by Winter, and I think my mom helped with that because I remember her saying that she didn't like the name Winnie and my name was pretty as it was.

since you asked... i am not a fan of either name... HOWEVER i believe it is YOUR choice. If you enjoy it, go with it. It is your baby... but if you want a name that popular opinion is going to support, then Winter Haven in not it most likely... Haven especially i dislike... how about Winter Solace... i kid, i kid hah

That is awesome!! I have never met anyone IRL with that name, so it's cool that you're on here and could comment:) I really do love the name Winter, but now I don't know about the middle name.

I love Winter Lyric, but dislike Haven. I always think of "Shaving Mavin" when I see that name

Please don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like a boat name.

Both names are fine on their own but together they're bad. That's my HO.

Honestly, both Winter and Haven are NMS. I do think I would like Winter much better with a different MN.

Most of the time when people hear my name they say "Really? That's pretty . I've never met anyone named Winter before." It is kind of cool. I'm not one for wanting much attention, but I do like to feel special. Also, did I see in a post above your daughter's name is Rainy? I am totally considering Rainy for a girl and thought that was a fun coincidence.

I like Winter Grace...I think it flows the nicest....and I think of a graceful winter walk for some reason..it just sounds peaceful.

I like the name Winter and don't think it has to "match" or "go with" the middle name. If you like it then keep it

Someone may have already said this but Winter Haven is a town in Florida...not necessarily a reason to not use the name but just wanted to throw that out there.

I think Winter is pretty, and like a PP said who ever really calls someone by their first and middle name anyway...unless they're in trouble ha!

I think it would be weirder if she was born in winter. I know of someone who named their baby August and he was born in August...a little odd to me, but to each their own!

Winter is NMS, but I can see the draw to it. If we were IRL friends I would probably make fun of the combo behind your back. If you like Winter, I would definitely choose a different MN.

I love off beat names and winter is gorgeous. However, when someone asks to hear the name be prepared lots of odd looks is you combine winter and haven together.

FWIW, I LOVE the name Winter! I think it's unique and beautiful. My son's name is Lake, so I like different names. This LO is a girl and I have my heart set on Raina for her, but now DH has decided he doesn't care for it. Gonna have to try to change his mind on that. Like others, I'm not a fan of Winter Haven, but you have to love it, not me. As a PP suggested, I really love Winter Grace! Good luck!

The spring training for major leauge baseball is in Winterhaven Fl and that's all I can think of. What about Winter Sophia?

Yeah, all I think of is the town in Florida. The Indians used to have their spring training there. Even Winter by itself is NMS, and this comes from someone named Sunny. ;

I like Winter, but paired with Haven it comes off cheesy. I would pair it with a classic name that is not an adjective as well: Elizabeth, Anne, Lou, Jane, Marie, Ellen, Elise, Kate, etc..
